  1. Choppy gameplay on COD Ghosts

Hello all. OK so I have been playing competitive multiplayer online on COD and FPS's since COD 4. I currently only play COD Ghosts on XB360, and Im starting to almost not want to play anymore. During a match online, my character will "glitch" or "chop" about
every 10-20 seconds. For example: I will be running through an open doorway and I will get throught the entrance, but then it "chops" or glitches me instantly to where I am running right into the wall or object that was to the left (or sometimes right) of
the doorway! Its almost like I never even ran through the doorway. Not only does that happen like 4-5 times a game, I also can see the character "choppy" while just running around the open map, again every 10-20 seconds. Its so frustrating too when aiming
at an opponent and shooting them and bullets not completely registering. I have even spoken with my ISP many times on this issue, and they have the slightest clue on to how to help me. All they say to do is "reset the modem/router", "turn off all unused wi-fi
connections", "make sure the coax cable and ethernet cables are all plugged in completely" LOL I mean seriously that stuff is childsplay basic. Hopefully someone can help me on this!

    OK, so now my setup:

    -Xbox 360 wired connection - CAT5e directly to SBG650 modem/router - PORT 1

-Recent speedtest (ethernet cord to my laptop) from speedtest.net - 51.39 Mb/s download, 5.64 Mb/s upload, 30 ms latency (ping)

-UPnP enabled (when disabled, still have same issues)

    -Port forwarded 53 UDP, 53 TCP, 80 TCP, 88 UDP, 3074 UDP, 3074 TCP

    -DMZ setup (static IP)

    -NAT type is ALWAYS Open

In XBOX 360 configure network settings:

-IP Settings - Manual (IP address setup, subnet mask setup, gateway setup)

-DNS Settings - Manual (kept same from automatic)

    I never have trouble matchmaking.

I never have problems connecting with friends or experience mic/communication problems.

I can literally stream HD content (which I do not) from Youtube while Im playing in a match online multiplayer and experience no real lag or change in connection.

SIDE NOTE: I do have an Xbox One, which is currently wired to the router/modem as well at all times. I have disconnected the ethernet cable from the XB1, and still have the same issues. Just thought Id throw that in there, not sure if it has any relevance.
Thanks in advance to all who respond!

    :)

I don't know if this will help at all but it has been stated by official support that when it comes to DMZ. port forwarding, and upnp you should only have one of these enabled at a time. Preferably just upnp if your router supports it which yours can according
to your post. Having more than one enabled at a time can cause connection problems. Try using just one of them at a time and see what happens. Let us know!

  5. Before I even went in to the routers settings recently and messed with anything, UPnP was the only thing that I had enabled.

Since I read this message about an hour ago, I went in and have UPnP enabled, no forwarding, no DMZ and still the same choppy connection. Like I had previously said, it only happens about once every 10-20 seconds so its not like I am not able to play at
all...its just super frustrating when it happens.

Could the CAT5e cable be an issue? I know there are CAT6 now, maybe its worth a shot? Im really not worried about spending another $40-50 on another cable. I need atleast 20-25 feet with where I am currently playing, just a room away from the modem.

  6. Update:

-Reset to factory defaults on router

-Running port forwarding only (UPnp disabled, DMZ disabled)

-Got a CAT6 cable (again, ran to XB360 straight from modem/router)

    -NAT is still OPEN

-recent speed test --- 56mbs down, 6mbs up, 23ms ping

-Xbox configuration settings still manual - set IP, subnet, gateway

AND.....today I spoke with a Tier 3 specialist with my ISP for over an hour. The specialist, Tim, said the signals from the modem were perfect and there was nothing abnormal about the connection from his end. He ran various tests and looked at graphs, could
not figure it out him self. NO CHANGE!

Same glitchy choppy connection every 15-30 seconds....

I am mind boggled at this point.
