Choppy 3D Blu-ray playback

I was surprised to see that 3D blu-ray playback was enabled on my Xbox One today with an update. Now it worked for a few movies such as Adventures of Tin Tin, but when I went to play Dredd and Star Trek Into Darkness, the playback was really choppy. I tested
the movies with their standard 2D versions and they played just fine. They also play regularly on my older 3D blu-ray player.

I thought Xbox One could play 3D blu-ray....

Popped in a 3d blu-ray for the first time and it says that the disc recognized that the player does not support 3d playback, what gives??

I got the update, so I put Avatar (Region B) in to see if the update enabled 3D and found that yes it did enable 3D, but at far less than 24fps. It looks terrible, try again Microsoft.

 

The Hobbit 3D also had playback issues with choppy playback. Plus when I unticked the 24hz box in the bluray app settings I lost 3D playback and it went back to 2D.
