Childs Profile, needs an email?

I'm trying to set up a profile for my son on the XBox One, and however i try to set it up it says he requires an email address. Does he really need an email address? he's seven, i don't plan on giving him one unless i have to, but it seems ridiculous that
he should need one (Especially considering we didnt need it for the 360). starting to regret buying this xbox one...

How to turn an Xbox 360 offline profile into a gamertag FOR CHILD ACCOUNT

How do you turn an xbox 360 offline CHILD profile into a gamertag? We are unable to change the profile from child to adult so need to transfer it as is. The 'join xbox live' option is not working.

Help me - Parental control

In my console i have:

Profile 1: My xbox live account (not gold)

Profile 2: Child

profile 3: Child

How i can manage this profiles to set restrictions for games?

I need to block/hide some downloaded games for my children, i tryed from family setting and other options....BUT DOESN'T WORK!

can i set restrictions manually for each game?

What's so hard on making a free email for him that you don't give him access to.. First world problems at its best.... This is done so your account the parent has Xbox live it can be shared but they need an email so if they need to ban the account for missuse.

I'm pretty sure my PS4 required an email when making account, get over it they are all doing it, I'm pretty sure my Wii U also needs a email so please get over it. Takes 5 minutes to make the account just don't give him the password till he's older.

As mrGREEK360 mentioned, simply create the account and don't provide direct access for it.

As long as you remember the email and password you can get into the account should you need to reset the password. Doesn't even need to be named anything relevant to your son. Just a random bunch of characters @hotmail.com will suffice.

It does not want a Hotmail it wants a Microsoft account of some kind. This X1 profile system is ridiculous the 360 system is better. I have enough going on with out keeping track of a 7 yo internet profile and and there metadata.

It is nice to play Mine craft with your kid and he can keep his stuff in his inventory. This does not need to be on a Microsoft Profile for marketing and other scary things that they use it for.

Have a fun time with Xbox when you have to reset your child's email , Online Profile and password when you turn your tv on.

The website will let you manage things like privacy settings for the child account, but you won't be able to see the email attached to the profile. For that, you'll need the console itself. I believe it will need to be the console your child's account
has been on before.
