  1. Childs account is sending verification requests to the wrong email!

    Hi all,

My son helped my daughter set up her new XBox 360 today and accidentally entered an incorrect parental email address for her account to send verification requests to. It should have ended with ....@gmail.com, but he entered ...@gmail.co.nz. Whenever she
tried to add a friend it sends a verification email to this incorrect email address. I'm not sure how he did this (and neither is he) but I can't seem to find how to change it. I created my Live profile after this had already been done, and I can't seem to
find where to link or unlink the parent account. I have looked in the family settings and can't see any connection between her and my account, no way to add or remove a family member.

I was told by support I needed to sign on to Live through my web browser, then navigate to manage related accounts, then through to the "Family safety website" in order to make the changes. Although I have no problem signing into my account, the family safety
site simply refuses to load, saying "We're unable to log you in just now, please try again later.

I have spent an hour on chat with an XBox support person but was only able to establish what I already knew, that I couldn't get into the Family safety site. I was then referred to Microsoft account support chat where I spent another hour trying to establish
why I couldn't log in to the Family safety site. No luck again.

Do I edit the parental email from within my daughters account on the console? Or my account on the console? Or from a web browser in my Live account? Nothing I do seems to work at all and the support guys, both at XBox and Microsoft have been totally unable
to solve either the changing of the email, or the login to the family safety site.

I'm losing the plot and have a very upset little girl, any help would be appreciated.

    :)

changing the account from child to adult

    Hi Lennart,

After you turn 18 or if you're over 18 you can promote your child account to an adult account.

If you signed up for Xbox LIVE with a child account and have since turned 18, after the update you’ll see a new option at the very top of the Account Management section of the dashboard. The ‘Promote Child Account” will allow you to promote an Xbox
LIVE account that is a child account to an adult account.

This promotion removes the Family Settings and Xbox LIVE restrictions. To promote your account, you must agree again to the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use and marketing opt-ins.

Something that is available is to fill out the
    Age verification form
. If you're an adult you can submit proof of age by filling out the

    Age verification Request.

After submitting this form, you’ll receive confirmation and follow-up emails. Instructions on how you can monitor the status of your request will be included. Please do not submit multiple requests. You can expect an email response
    within 3 days.

    Hope this helps

Ok, from what I've been reading online you'll need to log in using the email and password that your son used when adding the parent account then remove your daughter's account from the family. After that she can be added to a different family member.

When you log in to your daughter's account it should ask for the parental account. If you have any trouble adding it then you should give phone support a call. 1-800-469-9269

    account birthdate

    Hello Heather,

thanks for coming to the forums with your question. Unfortunately, once you create an account with a birthdate that date is set and unable to change it.

Another option would be to fill out the Age
    verification form
.You cansubmit proof of age by filling out theAge verification Request.

After submitting this form, you’ll receive confirmation and follow-up emails. Instructions on how you can monitor the status of your request will be included. Please do not submit multiple requests. You can expect an email response within
    3 days.

Also you can create a new account with the Birthdate you want. Then you can use the child account for your child if they will be playing.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
