    My now, teenage son was upgraded to the Xbox One today for Christmas. A message
    "Error: this current profile is not allowed to play on Xbox Live". He is a member in good standing with no suspensions. It's asking for a parent to login and change settings so he can play online and make purchases (YES I know that the purchase
    feature was down most of the day--this happened before the error and Xbox says this has been resolved)

    I have the adult account but no where on my account do I see any billing info or his account info. It appears that he has the subscription and that we are 2 separate accounts (??!??). Is there anyway to add him under mine? Is it possible for a "child
    account" to be floating around the network and not be synced to any adult account??

    I think this is a glitch when converting from 360 to One. Please help!!! I'm ready to take this crap back and get a PS4. Thanks in advance

    Change email address for son's account

    Hi,

    You can certainly change the e-mail associated with your child's gamertag. Please visit this page
    here and read under "Can I switch my gamertag to a different Microsoft account?". When you change the e-mail on
    the child's account, you'll be prompted to enter in the parental information tied to the child's account before you can proceed.

    My child cannot use his gift cards without entering his physical address. I AM NOT GIVING MICROSOFT MY MINOR CHILD'S ADDRESS. Now his gift card money is trapped in his account. If they wanted his address, they should have asked for it before redeeming
    his gift cards into his microsoft account! (and then i would have put them on my account - which already has billing and address info). - and my kid is listed as a "child" on my account anyway!

    If you do not trust your child with online purchases why would you include your billing info in his account?

    Totally agree, HappyBunny11746 - the Billing info is so hidden by default that it is plainly obvious that Microsoft are ensuring they get subscription payments in a very sneaky way. I have just been emailed by my child, saying that he has received an INVOICE from
    Microsoft and has not bought anything. His account is set up as a CHILD account and yet they send invoices to his personal email! It's so obviously a tactic to hide this information from the bill payer.

    So I find the only way to change the email address for these invoices, is to get his account password, log in as him and change the default payment options. YES! There are default payment options on a CHILD account.

    Then I'm looking at why he got billed - it was for the auto-renewal of XBox live. I can see in my account that it will auto-renew the subscription every month, using MY Paypal account... but I cannot turn it off! I get this message:

    So to change subscription and billing I have to log into my CHILD'S account? Incredible..
    that's not billing info.

    Lol that's parental controls

    If you want an easier interface you use the console

    Subscription cancellation can be found by loging into the said account and account settings then subscription status
