    Child's account - grant permission

I am trying to grant permission for my son to play Roblox on his Xbox one. He has downloaded the app but when he tries to play, it says he needs to change his privacy settings to see other users content. I worried about unlocking too much and have read that
I can grant full permission just for a particular app. On the support pages it says very simply, "choose who will grant permission to use the app". I can't find that screen. When he plays it doesn't give him any option to ask for permission. How do I allow
him to play? How do I grant permission for particular apps?

    Thanks.

    :)

Xbox One Family & granting exceptions to content limits for child accounts: Allow Always versus Just Once

I'll give this a try. The issue I'm having is one of my child accounts no longer asks for the adult to allow permissions; it only ask for the password/pass key assigned to the child's acct. So I can't grant permissions, it only asks for the password and
pass key every time. Thanks for posting this; let's see if it solves my dilemma.

Please see this page for how to grant an exception for a child account to play games that the account can not normally play:

(Please note that changing the birth date on the Microsoft account will not change the birth date of the xbox account - that's permanent.)

    ------------------

If you want to give your child permission to view content that’s rated higher than the child account settings for your family, you don’t need to change all of the settings to give access to a specific item.

Any adult in the family can grant exceptions to the content limits currently in the child account settings for your family. You have two options in granting exceptions:

    • Always – This option grants a permanent exception that can’t be revoked.
    • Just this once – This option is a one-time-only exception. It expires as soon as the child signs out of the console.

How to grant an exception to content limits

Note If you’re allowing your child to buy the game or video to which you’re granting an exception, the content must be purchased, downloaded, and installed before you can give permission to use it.

    1. Have your child sign in to their account on the Xbox One console.
    2. Locate the content you want to allow your child to access.
    3. On the Choose who will give permission screen, select the account of the adult family member who's providing permission.
    4. Enter the adult’s account email address and password, or the console’s passkey.
    5. Select either Always or Just this once.
After you give permission for your child to use this content, they can open the content immediately.

Adding always allowed apps to my childs account on xbox one

    Hello ScottPaul1!

Thanks for reaching out to Xbox forums support.

Below I'll provide you with a direct link on how to always Allow your child to Use certain apps.

Grant an exception to your child’s content limits on Xbox One

If you want to give your child permission to view content that’s rated higher than the child account settings for your family, you don’t need to change all of the settings to give access to a specific item.

Any adult in the family can grant exceptions to the content limits currently in the child account settings for your family. You have two options in granting exceptions:

    • Always – This option grants a permanent exception that can’t be revoked.
    • Just this once – This option is a one-time-only exception. It expires as soon as the child signs out of the console.
Note To grant the "always" exception, you need to have an Xbox account on the console. If your account is not on the console, you can only provide a temporary ("just this once") exception for the current session.

    5. Select either Always or Just this once (or only
Just this once if your account is not on the console).
After you give permission for your child to use this content, they can open the content immediately.

I hope this helps! Let us know!

Child AccountSignon Issue on Meta Quest 3 Xbox App

Hello __RK__, my name is Vanessa, I'm happy to help you today.

By researching your problem, I found information that may be useful to solve your problem.

If you want to give a child permission to view content with a rating higher than what is set in your family's child account settings, you don't have to change all the settings to grant them access to specific content.

Any adult in your household can grant exceptions to the content limits currently set in the account settings of a minor in your household. You have two options for granting exceptions:

Always: This option grants a permanent exception that cannot be revoked.

Just this once: This option allows an exception for a single occasion. It expires when the child logs out of the console.

Note: To grant the "always" exception, you must have an Xbox account on the console. If your account is not in the console, you can only provide a temporary exception ("just this once") for the current session.

How to grant an exception to content limits:

Follow these steps to grant permanent or temporary exceptions to content limits on Xbox for a minor.

Sign in with your account in the console.

Ask the child to log into her account.

Find the content you want your child to have access to.

On the Choose who will give permission screen, select your account.

Enter your account email address and password or console PIN.

Select Always or Just this once (or Just this once if your account is not on the console).

After granting permission to the minor to use this content, he or she will be able to open it immediately.

You can write to me again if you need more information.

I hope this is useful to you.

    Vanessa.
