Children exposed to inappropriate advertisement. Parental content controls do effect ...

Anyone else completely disturbed by this? My content filter that is set for E for everyone does not get rid of this.

Xbox home dash board > advertisement for "The Strain Preview: Ancient Evil"

I have contacted support, they said they would send feed back to marketing and that was about it.

Thanks AVD. I've always used parental controls. There's a statement under content control setting that says something to the effect that advertisements will not be affected.

I would love to know where the family advertising setting is. I'll dig on this.

No, no one else is disturbed by that. I assume you viewed the advertisement on your adult account. Most adults don't set their personal gamertags to children's settings. So I'm sure this is just a glitch that will be sorted out eventually. Also, that advertisement
didn't show anything particularly inappropriate.

Sounds to me like if this is an actual glitch in the system, then you've already taken appropriate measures.

 

I think it also might be worth asking in the Xbox360 forums after watching the video you posted.

Don't know if the controls are better on the Xbox one as there are only adults in my house at the moment, sorry I can't be of more help with this issue.

 

I had a similar thing happen last year with my 6 yr old sons Xbox 360. I had everything setup for a child account with everything locked down as much as I could but then one day he switched on his Xbox and the character intro trailers for GTA5 was on the
home page. Thankfully I was in the room so I disconnected it from the internet. Checked it myself later that evening and I was able to view them, and if you've seen those trailers you know how graphic they are. I guess it was a glitch, but i'm not prepared
to take the risk so my sons Xbox 360 is now offline permanently.
