I have a child who is defiant and refuses to give us access to his screen time. We set a timer on our phone but I would like it to automatically go off. What can ai do besides torturing him?

    :)

  2. Unable to accept family invite

I was playing forza horizon 3 when there were some aspects of the game locked off by parental control. I have never used microsoft family so there are no parents. I then tried adding myself to microsoft family as an adult in hopes for a fix, now I'm unable
to accept the invitation. I accept and show up as an adult but the invitation is still not replied to, and i can still not access xbox settings as it says that a child can not enter the settings without special permission

Can you try to re-associate the child account to the parent account? To do so:

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account and select the
      Family tab.
    2. Select Add a child.
    3. Enter the email address of the child account that you want to re-associate with the parent account. This will send an invitation to the child account’s email address.
    4. Sign out of your Microsoft account and sign in to the child account.

Note For security reasons, you may be asked to verify the account.
    5. Select the button labeled Sign in and accept.

Note Email can be found by selecting View inbox.

Child won’t accept invitation from parent

Is he account an actual child account that is in a family with an adult? If so you can always go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4028244/microsoft-account-set-up-screen-time-limits-for-your-child to see about setting up the time limits for the
child account for Xbox and Windows 10 Devices.

New LIVE Terms Won't Let Me On My Account

    Hey,

From what you have described your account is a child account,

By law a child cannot accept a legal and biding TOU so a parent must accept on there behalf.

It seems that you parental email is very similar to your actual email just spelt incorrectly.

You will have to attempt a PW reset for your parent Microsoft account using
    account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx

Then you will be able to accept the TOU

    Need help with parental controls

    Hello,

You will need to first accept the terms of use this time around using the old parental information. Once you've done that and you are in your account you should be able to switch the parental e-mail account to another e-mail.

Please first try and reset the parental e-mail password, if that does not work, try to fill out the account recovery form located
    here.

If you'd like to change the parental account on file after you've accepted the terms on both the parent and child account you will need to login to the Parent account and remove the Child from "the family". After that, sign out and sign in on the Child
Account. You should be prompted to sign in with a Microsoft Account (WLID) and password which will be the new Parent account. (That's direct from Mister Gwyther so it should work once you've accepted the new terms on both the child
    and the parent account).

Unable to change currency or country to Add money to child account

You should be able to change the region on your child's account. Try:

    1. Sign into family.microsoft.com
    2. Click three dots for the child's account you need to modify
    3. Click Manage Consent
    4. Click Edit this child's personal info
    5. Edit the country
    6. Accept the warning about providing consent (steps 7 will do this), the child will appear to disappear from the family.
    7. Sign in as the child on account.microsoft.com. The child will receive prompt for consent, select "I am the parent" option, sign in with parent account, and then accept consent prompt. Sign into family.microsoft.com (using a parent account), and you'll see the child back in the family.
    8. Sign back in to account.microsoft.com with the child account to confirm country is now switched
Then you should be able to add the funds under the correct currency.

How to change parental windows live ID

Hey there Serpant! First, as Hassassinade pointed out, you'll want to make sure that the new Terms of Use have already been accepted by both the Child and Parent accounts. After that, you can change the Parent on a Child Account by logging into the Parent
account and removing the Child from "the family". After that, sign out and sign in on the Child Account. You should be prompted to sign in with a Microsoft Account (WLID) and password which will be the new Parent account.

Please let us know if you have any questions on this, thanks!
