Child Use under Family Account In Divorced Households

Can child use one Family account on a separate device at the house of the other parent not on the Family account? Or does the other parent need to set up their own Family account and pay for the services? Can you attach the same child profile to both?

    :)

Dont know about the survey - but I have contacted support in the past and had the count reset early (my family is split across two households due to a divorce)

Let's clear up this whole "your friends have to pay a fee if you let them borrow their game" concept.

In response to families & multiple consoles in a household: use a family account, that way your games under the "parent" profile are also considered owned by all of the other family profiles (or child accounts) as well, regardless of which console they're
on... I imagine that with the consoles going through so great a change, I can only assume that the family plans will also undergo changes that are more appropriate for the new console (better & improved all-around).

Can't allow an exception for a game on a child account.

I'm wondering if there's something that tells Live that the account is a child other than just being listed as a child account in a family? When not in the family under my account, the child account seems to have full privilege to set it it's own family,
set content restrictions, etc. The DOB is set so the child is clearly under 18. Is there something else that the child account could be missing?

    Family Timer

You can set each childs account screen time if they are child accounts under a parental family account. This is done by joining their xbox account to yours then goto the family link under your account https://account.microsoft.com/family/.
Selelct the child account and pick "screen timer" and setup the amount of time per day and day of week and times of day they can use the console. What is nice, you will receive a weekly report on each of the child accounts.

    Parental permission

Are you possibly still under a family as a child?

There are two ways to be considered a child.

    1. DOB on account when it was originally setup. This will require the account to be setup in a family as a child account that would have an adult to control its options.

    2. If it was originally setup as a child in a family with a child account and it reaches the age of majority (18 in most countries) and is still under a family as a child account then it would still be considered a child account. To fix this you would just
need to sign in with the adult account at account.microsoft.com/family and remove yourself from the family.

This will put you into your own family as an adult AS LONG as your DOB when your account was originally setup is truly over the age of majority. If it is not then you would not be able to do anything on your account till you are added back to a family as
    a child account.
