    Child Screen Time Monitoring

My son uses Xbox to play fortnite and other games. Unfortunately when we first set up his Xbox we used my email address. He then created a tag and has built up a profile. At the time I thought it was better to use my email address rather than create a
new email for him as I thought it would give me more control over what was up to.

The problem is that I cannot use any of the MS controls on screen time and content because I cannot add him as a family member as he is effectively operating as me. He now has his own email address now and microsoft account but if he logs in under that
address his profile/history does not come up (presumably because the profile with all the history is essentially my profile linked to my email account).

I would therefore like to be able to transfer "my" X BoX profile over to him so that when he logs into Xbox using his email address he will be able to continue playing from where he left off. Is that possible? Any help please would be appreciated. As you
can probably tell, I am not the most computer literate person in the world! Many thanks.

    :)

Thank you very much for your response. I am using non MS email addresses. I may be being slow but does this mean that I have to set up a new M S account for myself (as I am essentially transferring my MS account to him) and then use my new MS account
account to add my son in to my family so that I can then apply screen time controls? Thank you.

Thank you very much for your reply and unfortunately I think that confirms what I thought. It's really a flaw that you cannot transfer gaming histories to another account, particularly where I suspect there are thousands of parents that have made the
same mistake I made when setting up their children's accounts. It's also an issue when children get older and want to disassociate themselves from their parents and cannot do it without losing their entire gaming history. Once created, your gaming history
should be portable between family members long as the relevant members consent. I suspect there will be children all over the world who are getting very very stressed about this.

If you do as Njal the Blue suggested, that would make your son's email a login alias for your adult account, and you wouldn't still be able to control his account.

Unfortunately, for this scenario, your kid has to start over using their own email and new Gamertag profile, as there is no way to transfer the game progress to another account.

Your account can however share Gold memberships and game ownership to the console your kid is playing on, so they can still play the games you bought with that account and can still use the Gold membership shared to that console from your account.

If you are using a Microsoft email address for your account (outlook.com, live.com, hotmail.com etc) you can't change as you would lose everything else associated with that account and it deletes forever. If you are using non Microsoft email addresses,
you can change the email address associated with your account for his.

    Hey there NudgeWink!

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this difficulty.

That is a good idea, and if you want to go ahead and suggest that somewhere where Xbox corporate can read and take in your input, visit and post it at our Xbox Ideas
    forums.

    Thanks!
