Child profile attached to my account = unable to set time limit

I am set up as the family organiser, my child has X-box one profile which is attached to my Microsoft account. This means I am unable to set a time limit for him - because as the organiser I cannot set time limits for myself.

How can I transfer his existing X-box profile to his own account so I can set limits? I have set up a new X-box account for him under me (as a family account), but I am unable to transfer/attach his existing X-box profile to his own account.

    :)

You can set time limits by creating a child account for the person you are wanting to add these limits to. All you'll need to do is set up a
Family Account then add your child to that account.

    Hi MrQQ19,

Thanks for updating us with your reply. Insofar as transferring any game saves from the adult account to the child account, this is not possible at this time per the

Microsoft Account on the Xbox console FAQ
. Any saves or items will remain with the account/profile that they were made under, so the new child account will need to start over from the beginning.

Regarding time limitations on any adult account, this is not possible as that feature is for child accounts only. To set up the time limits on the child account, you may refer to our support article entitled Set
screen time limits for your family
to manage how long your child spends playing games and watching shows by telling Xbox how to manage their screen time.

I hope that this information helps a bit more.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
