    Child does not appear in XBox Live Privacy settings online


    I have my son set up with a MS account on a Win 10 computer. I signed him up in XBox Live to hopefully be able to play online with him, but get an error message that the privacy settings are blocking online interaction. On the XBox Live Privacy and online
    safety page, it only shows options for me. My son does show up properly under MS Family, and I can change those settings, but I cannot seem to connnect to his XBox Live account. We do not have an XBox, just PCs running Win 10.

    I cannot manage my childs xbox privacy settings. My childs microsoft account is member of my Family (on the Microsoft Account page), but his gamingtag does not appear in manage privacy settings on account.xbox.com - please help

    Hi,

    You can only promote an account from a child to an adult on the Xbox 360 console. Changing your privacy and online settings does not disassociate a parental e-mail from an Xbox LIVE account.

    Please follow the instructions here to do so.

    On the Xbox if you go to Settings -> Account -> Privacy and Online Safety -> Xbox Live Privacy

    You can set it to Child Defaults or customize the settings for his account

    Hi Sergio,

    Some features in games have age restrictions and if it's not allowing you to use those features, then it's possible the account is listed as a child account based on the age used during account creation. Check your Xbox Live online privacy on your Xbox One
    or Xbox.com. From the Xbox, go to Settings>Account>Privacy & online safety>Xbox Live privacy, and if allows you to change your privacy settings, then it is an adult account and there is a bug with the game. If it does not allow you to change any of your privacy
    settings and asks for an adult account to sign in to makes changes then you have a child account and will need a parent account to allow these features in game.
