  1. child can't purchase gold?

My 13 year old son was trying to purchase Xbox Gold with my permission today but when we clicked to buy it, a message popped up saying they needed parent's permission to buy it, saying they couldn't ask for it themselves, but a hug and a please does the
trick. I bought it on my account that I only use to act as a parent on the Xbox, but this doesn't extend to his account. I can't find anything online to help, and I'm paying for it on an account that I'm not going to use, and my son can't play with his mates.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    :)

I can't set a password for confirmation of any purchase in xbox 360 marketplace

You can't. As for your child you can set up a child account for him and set Parental Controls to disallow the purchase/download of any Marketplace content.

Not a question, just venting - My kids keep spending my money so I had to cancel my auto renewal and remove all forms of payment.

If the account he's using is a child account then you can restrict purchases, if it's an adult account you can't.

    child can't purchase gold?

I have no idea is this will help but as no one else has responded here goes. Im not sure but I believe if you have your account on your sons Xbox and set it as the home console for that account then the Gold membership should be
shared with all other accounts on the same xbox. Also I think you can login to your child's account using a web browser and add a payment option for gold and such from there, check the second link.

    Xbox Live with Child Accounts

    Hi

Thanks for the prompt responses. So are you all saying I can't share my xbox Gold with two child accounts, but i can with one child account. This is how it has been working but I want to limit screen time for my kids and this is why I setup a second Child
    account.

Could I move my gold subscription to one of the child accounts and share it this way?

I really don't want to purchase a second gold subscription.

What have my dad to do, if he wants to buy me xbox live gold abonentment on the same console?

    Hello,
    KlavierComic78

Thank you for contacting Forum support!

Just for clarification, is this a child account?

Is there issues when attempting to buy a Xbox live gold subscription?

If this is a " Parent and Child account" then the child account would attempt to buy it then would need permission from the adult account.

If the child has no safety lock on purchases then the account may purchase the Xbox live gold with no issue.

The Xbox live gold does not have to be bought as a gift.

If the parent account has gold set it as the "Home console" so the gold may be shared to other users on the console, if this is a Xbox one.

Unable to Purchase Xbox 360 Games with Gold Titles

That error is because you are a child account

To make the purchase you must use an xbox 360.

Or.have a parental account with actual gold not home gold make the purchase

Xbox 360 markrtplace is different from xbox one child accounts must makefile purchase on the 360 or have a parental account make the purchase

Xbox one unrestricted setting is incompatible with xbox 360

Have you set up a family account for yourself and the child that has XBL Gold (ie parent account with Gold, Child 1 has access as defined by parent account)? This would be best to control unauthorized purchases but would limit game sharing as only the Parent
account would be able to play on the non Home console.

If you haven't created a Family and have simply purchased XBL Gold for Child 1 then you can share that with Child 2 by game sharing:

    • The console that Child 2 uses should be set as the Home console for Child 1 account
    • The Child 1 account would download the applicable games to both consoles
    • The Child 1 account would use the non Home console while logged in with his XBL account
    • I recommend setting a custom pass code on purchases if you don't want unauthorized purchases made if you have added your CC to the console.
