Child Account Upgrade to Gold Membership

Like a lot of people, we had a family membership that disappeared recently. Both my kids accounts went to Xbox Live Free accounts.

Can someone tell me how I can subscribe both kids with their gold memberships? Can I do it thru my account? Do I have to put my credit card info into each of their accounts?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Adult account upgrade took away my gold membership

I have been on the gold family plan (four 1-year long subscriptions for the price of two) for a few years and could not upgrade my account from a child account to an adult account. Every time I went to upgrade my account to adult, it threatened to kick
me off the family plan and remove my gold membership. Now that Xbox Live has removed the gold family pack from Xbox 360 and changed all family accounts to single memberships, I thought it would be okay to upgrade my account to adult. It did not give me the
warning this time, like it did previously, but when I upgraded, I found that my gold membership was gone and I was reverted to a free silver membership. I still have a year of gold membership, where did it go? Why did if go away just because I upgraded my
account from a child account to a gold account? Can someone please help me on this?

 

Child Accounts Unable to use Gold Membership on Parent Account

Good day,

I have a child account that cannot access the my parent account which has Live Gold membership. Child account trying to purchase a game but it will not allow using the Gold membership price. Also unable to download free games via the Gold membership. Xbox
One is set as the "home" box for both child and parent. So why is it that the child account appears to have no access to Gold?

 

You would have to either add a payment method to each of their accounts and purchase gold through their accounts or purchase prepaid gold cards for each account.
