Unable to connect Xbox Live Account to Fortnite and access information on my xbox live account

    Hi there Riccardo,

    Thanks for the replies.

When you say "the account family consist of only one adult account."

    • Do you see the child account under the Family?

If you do not see the child profile under the family, I recommend the following troubleshooting article:

Add a new member to your family on Xbox One.

Try this out and let us know the results. If you receive an error message of any sort please share that with us.

Can't allow an exception for a game on a child account.

I'm wondering if there's something that tells Live that the account is a child other than just being listed as a child account in a family? When not in the family under my account, the child account seems to have full privilege to set it it's own family,
set content restrictions, etc. The DOB is set so the child is clearly under 18. Is there something else that the child account could be missing?

    Parental permission

Are you possibly still under a family as a child?

There are two ways to be considered a child.

    1. DOB on account when it was originally setup. This will require the account to be setup in a family as a child account that would have an adult to control its options.

    2. If it was originally setup as a child in a family with a child account and it reaches the age of majority (18 in most countries) and is still under a family as a child account then it would still be considered a child account. To fix this you would just
need to sign in with the adult account at account.microsoft.com/family and remove yourself from the family.

This will put you into your own family as an adult AS LONG as your DOB when your account was originally setup is truly over the age of majority. If it is not then you would not be able to do anything on your account till you are added back to a family as
    a child account.

Why will my account not change to adult?

There are 2 ways for an account to be a child account.

    1. DOB when the account was originally setup is under the age of majority (18 in most countries). This can not be changed and you would have to wait it out.

    2. It is in a family as a child account. When the DOB is put in that is under the age of majority it is required to be put into a family as a child account. You can check this out by signing into the parental account at account.microsoft.com/family and you
would have to option to remove your account from the family. Keep in mind if you do this and your DOB is still under the age of majority you would not be able to do anything on the account till you are put back into a family as a child.

    LISTED AS A CHILD ACCOUNT??!!

There are 2 ways that determines if your account is a child account or not.

    1. The DOB on the account when it was originally setup (requires account to be in a family as a child account) until the DOB reaches the age of majority 18 in most regions.

    2. If an account was under 18 and has reached the age of majority (18 in most countries) sometimes the system will glitch and not put them in their own family and if their account is still in a family as a child account then the account
will still see them as a child account until they sign in at account.microsoft.com/family and remove themselves from the family,

So in your friends case IF the DOB when his account was originally setup is above the age of majority and he is still showing as a child account then more than likely he is still in a family as a child account. If he is not in a family
and it is still saying that he is a child that means the DOB when his account was originally setup is still under the age of majority.

If your DOB on your account when it was originally setup is still considered under the age of majority and you remove yourself from a family as a child you will not be able to do anything on the account till you are added back to a
    family as a child account.
