child account to adult from 360 to xbox one

when i first made a xbox 360 account it was set to a child account and i could never find out how to chnage it to a adult account. I cant buy backward compatible xbox 360 games because my account is set to a child account.

Users are free to promote their 'child' accounts to an 'adult' account, once they reach the adult age set in their region. You should not need to move anything over from one account to another

it means you have to make the purchase from an xbox 360 not an xbox one because of your child account

Or make a purchase using an adult account

https://account.microsoft.com/profile/

just to be sure it is set to the correct date it might require you to add a valid payment option like a credit card to confirm you are an adult.

You might need to sign out of the account on the console and into it again after this steps
