Child account not showing up to change settings

Hi

I have added my daughter to my microsoft family and installed smart glass on her android tablet as she plays minecraft pe, but she wanted to add me as a friend so i invited her from my windows 10 version of minecraft. She sees the invite on her tablet but
cant acept as i need to change the settings in her part on the microsoft family,but her gamer tag doesnt show up for me to get into her settings. How can i solve this so she can accept only people who invite her to be a friend.

Xbox One Child Account Information

Microsoft gives the parents the control over what their kids play, you go into settings, and you can set up the child settings and restrict what ratings for movies, tv shows, music, and games can be accessed by the child account. If you want your child to play a game that's rated M, then set it to that. Want the child restrictions turned off, then do that. The power is in your hands.

 

You will need to change it to adult then add the person, then change it back to child again I believe.

Thank you for your reply. Sorry for sounding stupid but where do I change her to an adult and back again, is it in the Microsoft family part on my laptop.

To change the privacy settings of an account. You just need to sign in on this link. Even though it shows only the privacy for xbox one and 360 settings. It also applies to all other devices as long as you're using xbox app or smartglass.

However, with regards to change an account from a child account to an adult then return it back to a child account. I'm sorry but that's never possible. The only time that a child account can be an adult account is when you have promoted the account itself.
To promote the account, the account should reach the right age for adult which is 18 for most countries. Changing the age of the account does not change how the system recognize the account. The first age that was added on the account will be the one that
the system will follow.

 

Did some digging. To answer your question: sign into the child's profile and then go into the friends list, there you should see the friend request pending. Click on the friend request to add the friend, once you click add friend, it will download the family
settings and it will bring up the message "Your parent must approve your friends." It will display the parent email address and request your password before the friend request is approved and added to the list.

NOTE: If you are unable to do this, ensure you have the account saved as a "Child" account permissions and not a "Custom" account permissions.

I have tried logging in to her account on the laptop and when i click the friends part it just comes up with a page saying a child is trying to access the settings, this is the url

support.xbox.com/.../error-child-trying-to-access-settings. Just to confirm she is using minecraft pe on her android tablet and logs in to her microsoft account with a gmail address and when i go to the my family part of microsoft theres no gamer tag for
her and no way of changing her settings. She has a gamer tag on the xbox page.

I think i may have solved it i had to make anew account for her using an outlook address and seemed to work so far as her gamertag shows up on my microsoft family and i can change settings. Once i have got her to sign in via her android tablet using smartglass
