Child account not changing?

I want to change my gamer picture to a custom one on the beta Xbox app, but it says that I "need to be older".

On my console it says to sign in as the parent and go to Family on the account settings, but when I do that it just gives me the option to
"add to family", which I am already in. And as the parent I can change the privacy settings, although for the parent's
account. As mine, it's all greyed out so I can't change it but everything is unrestricted.

I can play whatever I want and as far as I know do whatever, but the child restrictions prevent me from joining or creating clubs (which I'm not really bothered about), and having a custom picture.

Any way to get past this?

I'm not a little kid trying to get past the filters so I can have something bad as my picture; it'll most likely be a picture I've taken of some kind of car or nature.

Child account not a child account?

I recently got an Xbox One. My girlfriend's daughter had a local xbox account on our 360. Upon getting the One we turned her account into an Xbox Live account and setup her new Xbox Live account on the Xbox One. For some reason her account doesn't seem
to be registered as a child account. We paid the 50 cents and attached her email address to her mother's. I set the security controls to "Child default" in her account. But she can easily just change it back to adult if she feels the need. Am I missing
something here? Would really like to get this straightened out. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I contacted support. They said there was nothing I could do. I guess when we created her Live account we accidentally put the wrong birth date in. The one entered made her account an adult account and support told me there is no way to convert an adult
account into a child account. She has achievements and such saved and wiping the slate clean wouldn't have been the most ideal situation.

 

Hi, you have to be 18 or older to be able to change your gamerpic to a custom one. There is no way around this, so if the account age is not 18, you will have to wait until it is.
