Child account not able to access

    Hi there,

We have just got an xbox and my son is set up as a family member. Whenever he tries to log in with his passkey it comes up that I have to fix the problem on the account the quote is... "there's a problem with your account.
Fix it at account.Live.com, then come back to sign in." I know this was also posted in April but the response was no help at all.

I have been through every setting of my son and nothing has been flagged up. I still dont know what the problem is and cant log in as him.

Any help would be much appreciated,

    :)

Probably something to do with the security settings on the account.

I would sign in, go through all the settings (not just the security), make sure everything is set correctly and updated.

    Child Account

    Hello goboilers777,

Thank you for keeping us updated. The passkey is only for the Xbox. If the child knows the email address and password, the child will be able to change the family settings from a cell phone or computer. The best way to manage the security of the family settings
is to set up the passkey on the console as recommended above and
change the password of the adult account
. If the child has access to the
    security information of the account
, the child will be able to reset the password. In the event of attempting to change the password, the Microsoft account will send a verification code to the security information of the account. As long as the child does
not have access to the security information, access to the password or access to the passkey; the child will not be able to change the family settings.

Support is not able to help in this case. Support has no access to the parental microsoft account through the child account. :(

Still having trouble with Alternate MAC address

    Hi there Cheryl,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, you are correct. A child account will be able to access the network settings (MAC Address settings) on the console.

    Hope this helps.
That's discouraging! So is there a way to prevent a child account from accessing the alternate mac address settings?

    Hi

If you create a child account seperate to your own then he won't be able to access payments unauthorized
