    Child account issue

I and my brother used to be part of a family plant but the family was disbanded and now my brother (on a child account) cannot do anything. I have an adult account.

What I'm wondering about is what we can do to promote his account to adult, or associate his account with mine since he can't access his account via the dashboard, it won't let him. Because he currently can't do anything (he actually can't go in and edit
his account on any of the profiles already on his xbox). The best I can think of is associate his child account with mine, but how would that work. He literally can't do anything, at all, with his own account.

Any help would be appreciated, his terrified he might lose the account or something, and that's not what we want.

    :)

  2. Child account issue!

I set up my Xbox Live Account around the age of 16 and am now 19, however Xbox Live still asks me for my parent's permission to accept the terms of agreement. I don't know if support is aware of this, and logging on to the xbox.com website alleviated the
problem (apparently the website is aware that I'm an adult) but the Xbox 360 interface doesn't seem to keep track of this.

When you turn 18, your account doesn't automatically change into an adult account. You have to promote it to an adult account. You can find the instructions on how to do that here -

    support.xbox.com/.../online-safety

So if you haven't promoted your account yet, you'll need to do that to prevent those issues in the future.

He will not lose his account. and to change any of his settings, you will need

to go on the account that purchased the family pack. then go of family settings, all of the accounts will still be apart of the family. from there, you can promote his account to an adult.

  5. He needs to have reached the age of majority in your region before he can be promoted to an adult... otherwise the rest of the information above is correct to my knowledge.

I'm trying to promote my son's account because his child account is too limiting. All of the instructions seem out of date. I cannot edit his birthdate in family. When I use his account to edit his profile he doesn't have the same options to change his
birthdate. Of course I cannot create a new account for him because then he'll lose everything he earned on Battlefront.

seriously, look at the instructions in this support and see that they do not work:

    Child account issues

That is non sense. There was no disclaimer prior to choosing her age that microsoft would use this an opportunity to extort more money from parents. The reason im taking her off because i cant just pay outright for content. I have to give an allowance.
If something costs $9.99 i can add $10.00 but that wont cover tax. Id have to give her $15.00 and over pay. Thats nonsense. This is going to be a class action if you continue to extort your clients.
You dont seem to grasp.the issue

    It is their terms

And copa enforces it and yes it is a law

If you remove your child from parental control it is your responcibility as tbe parent for any of her actions

Umm tax is the law you do realize that right ?

Everyrhung is taxed and is in fact the law

    They arent extorting anything

Prepaid cards are set balances regardless of your dream world

If you want exact change use your creditcard or complain to your senator about taxes.guess how you will.be laughed at

Having the same issue with my nephew. Not sure if you have to actually turn 18 in the system before it takes off all the restrictions?

    Issue with Child Account

This link should help you with that. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12411/microsoft-account-change-birthdate
It wont unfortunately. That only changes the date of birth on the Microsoft Account and has no affect on the Xbox accounts date of birth. The date of birth that is entered when the Xbox account is first created is set in stone and cannot be changed.

    Hey Captain Fun Weinacker,

Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, an Xbox account's date of birth is permanent. You can manage the restrictions on it by accessing a an adult account under the same family and managing the
