My Child is set up on his Xbox one with a gold membership and he has a child account and I am the parent. Is it possible for him to get the free xbox360 gold games each month, as well as the Xbox games?

Moving from Xbox 360 to Xbox One and Family Sharing

Hi - we currently have an Xbox 360. There is a child account which is used permanently and has Xbox Live Gold on it. The Gold expires soon and at the same time we will be getting an XBox One. There is also a Parent account associated with the child account
but this does not have XBox Live Gold.

So when we unwrap the shiny new XBox One on Christmas Day we can migrate the child account across but it will no longer have Xbox Gold as it will have just expired.

Will it be best for me to add XBox One Live Gold to the
Parent Account and then the Child Account can be part of Family Sharing (and I can add other accounts if I want for other kids), or will renewing the XbOx Live Gold on the Child account still allow Family sharing with both adults and children alike?

Hope someone has some good advice for me!

Saints Row IV purchase issue

I want to clarify if a child account, without restrictions and has an XBOX Gold subscription, can purchase the game and own a license. We have been trying to download the game on a child account but the radio button to purchase the game is not available.
Only one profile was downloaded to the Xbox 360 console and we've tried using the website and added a credit card.

Just how though?

It looks to me that a child account can't purchase via the website only the console. And you can't get 360 games via the xbox one console.

Child accounts don't allow you to download via the website and my account doesn't have a Gold subscription.

Any other ideas how it can be done?

Last option I can think of although it won't help at the moment is when your child's account is due for renewal then get gold on your profile then your child can share Xbox live with you I get my Xbox live from.CD Keys

I got the gold account from cd keys for my son. I have been on to support and it seems child accounts can't have 360 games. It's a issue they hope to fix soon.

My son has a paid xbox live gold subscription and I am able to download the free xb1 games under it including the rated M ones because I do not have content restrictions set.

Are you saying there is some special restriction that you can't download the free xbox 360 games under a child xbox live gold account?

There seems to be no solution to this problem if a child account is the one with Xbox Live Gold and you don't have an Xbox 360.

The parent account does not have the ability to get the Xbox Live Gold game for free.

The child account gets the message "Your account is unable to make this type of purchase on Xbox.com".

I'd be happy to provide some input.

So to understand what it is that is trying to be done is that you are trying to download the two free games with gold for Xbox One on an Xbox 360?

I believe the error may be related to the difference in the store and marketplace for Xbox One games and Xbox 360 games. It may be that you will need an Xbox One to download those free games to your account as you can download the 360 game with gold but
not the Xbox One games. Also the 360 is not capable of downloading games for the Xbox One so that's another reason why it's giving you the error because the game needs to download to be applied to the account. That may just be how it is set up by design.

If your child wants to play multiplayer games on the 360, he will need a gold membership. But if he plays games on the xbox one, he wont need a gold membership as all accounts on a Xbox one has gold if the main profile has gold.
