Child account can't sign into Minecraft Realms

The children show up in Microsoft Family but not on XBox.com so the settings can't be changed so that they can access Minecraft Realms.

how to add child to xbox live without a console so that minecraft realms work?

We're trying to use Minecraft PE to connect to a realm. The child account was created from Minecraft PE on iOS, the account appears under the parent Microsoft account family, but does not appear under the Parent Xbox Live family.

The child was successfully invited to a realm created by the parent, but when the child tries to connect, gets the message "You cannot play on Realms because of how your Xbox Live account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy & online safety settings
on Xbox.com".

However, the child can't change those settings, the parent needs to, but the parent can only change them from the Xbox account view (where, in this case, the child does not show up).

We do not have an Xbox console. We just want to play MInecraft with family and friends on a realm.

Microsoft support says there's no way to add the child without an Xbox console. I wonder why Minecraft PE walked us through creating a child account in the first place?

 

Changing child account to adult account

I made xbox account years ago for Minecraft. But I didn't have much interest in realms back then. Now when I check it, it says my account is child account and can't play realms, and I need an adult account to promote me to child account. I made this account
alone. And none of my parents or old relatives don't have xbox account. What am I supposed to do?

I have the exact same problem for several months. My daughter can't join the realm I've created. Even if she's shown in Microsoft Family, I can't manage her Xbox account.

So far I've not found any solution...

This recent post: I have a family account with microsoft ( all outlook ), but i don`t see them in xbox live. suggests that it's a Microsoft bug...

Hi, I have a similar problem - my son has a child account (family member) but can't access MineCraft. I have to sign in, switch back to his account and then he can access it.

Can you help?
