    Child account cant access Avatar/Marketplace


    My son has a child account linked to mine. He is trying to access the Avaatr store on hsi Xbox One. It comes up with "you cannot buy or download because of how your account is set up" without entering the store" and directs me/him to change settings in
    Security and Safety on Xbox.com. (but not specifically which setting)

    I have logged into my account on Xbox one and gone to his safety and security settings but can see nothing in there that needs to be changed that would allow access. Apps age limit is 16.

    How do I set hiim up to be able to access the avatar marketplace?

    Avatar Companion blocked for child account - Parent can't purchase for a kid? Seriously?

    So, my daughter wants to purchase an avatar item, Baby Groot Companion, for her avatar from the marketplace store. The item is FREE. She's blocked from doing so by MS due to being a child/teen account. Even though I am her parent, and even though I changed the family settings to allow her to purchase content and even though I have billing setup with MS, she still CANNOT purchase the item. I can't purchase it for her. Seriously?!!

    Who in their infinite wisdom decided that FREE content allowed by a parent, can still NOT be purchased by a child? Come to think of it, if this is the case, why is there no way for a parent to purchase content and gift it to a child account?

    purchasing avatar items for a non-xbox live account

    The account does need to be connected to XBox Live in order to purchase avatar items (and it does have to be her account as avatar items are not available to any gamertag except the purchasing gamertag). However, you can connect her gamertag to XBox Live
    with a free silver account and access the avatar marketplace without issue.

    If you have a child account you will not be able to access any demos or trailers on the Marketplace as they are considered advertising and within the ESRB Guidelines it is not allowed for minors to access such content. If that
    is the case then you would need to wait until the account age reaches 18 then promote it from child to adult.

    If you purchased it in the Avatar marketplace then that means it is an avatar item only and not for use in the game. You'll have to go to Social then click on his avatar and go into the avatar gallery to access it.

    Nope same requirements as the webportal

    Remember the emulator isn't. A full os or hardware there is no way to access their marketplace natively

    Also xbox one marketplace settings aren't compatible due to different parental settings

    There is no unrestricted account setting for child accounts on 360
