    Child account cannot go online.


    We are trying to get online with a child's account and cannot. We can go online with the primary adult account holder with no problem. Both accounts (adult and child) have Live Gold. The account was made using the Xbox One. We've tried changing the family/child
    account settings using both the Xbox and the PC. If it makes any difference, the game we're trying to access multiplayer in is StarWars Battlefront 2. Does the child's account need to be registered as a certain age for it to be able to have online access?

    For Battlefront the Account linked with EA has to have the parental control deactivated :)

    EA games may have more stringent restrictions preventing child accounts from playing online. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is ESRB rated Teen so if your child is not yet a teen then that may be why the account cannot play the game online.

    I'll note that once the age has been set on the Microsoft child account then it must age naturally until it reaches 18 (20 in Japan and South Korea) and you will unlikely be able to change the age to get around age restrictions.

    You may just have to sign in the family account via desktop computer and make the changes for the family account there. It sounds like a safety and privacy issue and you may need to change them

    If she is on a child account, you would have to create a new online account from scratch. Offline child accounts cannot be converted to Live accounts.

    Go to Settings, Account and Privacy & Online Safety. There, on the right hand side, you will see either View Details or View Details & Customize. Click on it and you will see a list of different aspects of Xbox Live. Find Join Multiplayer Games and check
    if it's Allowed or Blocked. If it's Blocked and you cannot change it, then it's a child account. You have to sign in with a parental account (the parental account would've been created at the same time as the child account), go to Settings, Account and Family.
    There, select the child's gamertag, then Privacy & Online Safety, View Details & Customize and allow online gaming.
