Child Account -> Adult Account

When I first got my computer, when I was around 15 years old, I made a lot of mistakes and often miss typed. During the process of making my first Microsoft Account it had also made an adult account for my mother, which we had both ultimately forgotten about
until recently when I noticed restrictions in the Microsoft Store. I after a long reset process gained control of my mothers account (though she had never used it). I am now 21 years old and would like my account to be unrestricted to use the Xbox Insider
Program. Earlier I tried leaving the Microsoft family which both of our accounts were in. That made my account an "adult" account, but after I waited and opened up Xbox Insider Hub, it's response was you must be 18 years or older to join the Xbox Insider Program.
It is very possible that I miss typed my Date Of Birth, as I did the same with the recovery phone number for my mother's account. I can't be the first whom this has happened to. Can I?... All help is appreciated.

Xbox one - Changing Adult Account to Child Account

Adult accounts cannot be made child accounts. Only child accounts can be converted to adult accounts. Not the other way around.

 

Parental Controls - Approving Friend Requests

There are three accounts in total, two adult, one child. The info I gave previously was from my adult account.

I'm just checking his child and our adult statuses.

My account is Adult and his is Custom (Child setting interfered with his gaming).

Unfortunately you'll have to wait until the birthdate entered when you created the account reaches the age of majority (18 in the US).

It's the one item the system will only read the initially entered information.

 

...Wow...I am very disappointed that your system had this easily avoidable flaw for so long. I hope you resolve it quickly, but until then, on to Playstation I guess... ;(

 

I have the same problem, but i put my date of birth as 21 december 1999 and its still restricted. Anyone know why?

 

Yeah because your date of birth has not reached its 18th birthday yet

 

You would have the same issue on Playstation as you cant change your date of birth on PSN either. So if you had created an account with the wrong date of birth on PSN you would have the same issue
