Transfer the data from one xbox to the other. It's not hard. I got the Gears xbox too, and haven't had that problem. I transferred all the data and licenses from one to the other.

You may want a checklist, but since you'll have a copy of the files on the old storage device it's not absolutely necessary.



There are 71 individual titles in my Games folder. It took me about ten minutes to manually copy all the saves from those folders to a new storage device. I had about four games that wouldn't Copy, but would only Move.



It takes a litle more time to do a manual Copy, but you retain a backup of the files on the old storage device should the new device die after a few days.



I believe even with offline profiles, the profile needs to be signed in locally to the console in order to Copy saves created by the profile.

There are two ways to transfer data.



The first is the transfer dialogs. That will delete the data.
