    Cheaters; Boosting and Lag Switching, etc.......


    Hey to all - Can someone please tell me once and for all the differences
    between; Boosting and Lag Switching.

    Also tell me what to look for when playing against these Cheaters,
    so to know whether I am in a game with a good player(s) who warrants respect, or one who just never likes to loose, to the point of having to Cheat as for I am sure this is also a bad trait that will follow them in and throughout their
    general life..

    Although I have been playing for a while now, to add not great at it, but really enjoy it regardless, and so it frustrates me to be in game with people like that of which takes the fun out of it...

    So as I am sure thousands of you gamers feel the same about them and know those that support my feelings would also be able to provide me with good answers to my Q's and guide me through some of the; What to look for in a gamer to see if he/she are cheating...

    You can't, you can only file complaint cheaters/hackers and if they annoy you with messages, block communications.

    Cheaters; Boosting and Lag Switching, etc.......

    Boosting is when a group of people get together play the game in a way to increase their rank or to get achievements without playing competitively.

    For example if you need 1000 kills for an achievement,one of your friends stands there and does nothing while he is killed over and over.

    boosting is not a violation of the code of conduct,but will get you an in game ban from some developers.

    A lag switch is totally different,its a piece of equipment that disrupts the internet connection of your opponents,usually freezing them in place so they can`t defend themselves.

    Lag switches will result in a ban if caught.

    My friends and I experienced a possible player using a lag switch today while playing Battlefield 4. Every time one of us were close to a certain player on the other team we experienced lag and always ended up dead.

    GhostGamez, one cannot "lag switch" on a Dedicated Server based Game such as BF Games. A "lag switch" will only work (and even that's very subjective) against Players on a Host/ Client Connection (Halo [Xbox 360], Call of Duty
    and the like).

    If you are playing against others Players that are outside of your Region (or theirs) even on a Dedicated Server you will find some Players will still have advantage/ disadvantage simply from the distance.

    everyone has lag issues, and this will never change even when we get dedicated servers for cod. sometimes lag is on your side and sometimes it's not, it's the way it is and you just have to accept it. yeah it's annoying when it takes half a clip to kill
    someone and the ones that have a better connection to the host than yourself, you either keep on playing or just leave because there is no point playing with a disadvantage like that and find a different lobby with a better connection.

    ps: when you search for games try not to go over 75ms, if you do just retry until you get put into a 75ms lobby.
