CHEAP CONTROLLERS WITH 3.5MM HEAD SET JACK

Brought A black controller it broke in 30 days, left analog stick and right bumper had unsmooth movements like they were sticking when press, returned and got 2nd black controller that broke in 4 days right TRIGGER this time with
unsmooth movements like sticking and clicking effect when pressed, returned and 3rd controller i got this WINTER FORCES and 20days right bumper 27 days left bumper starting to act up with same unsmooth clicking/sticking effect when pressed. these controllers
with 3.5mm headset jack are cheap as ****, my original xbx1 controller without 3.5mm jack from 2013 when xbx1 launched lasted 4 years with wear and tear and i dropped it several times, haven't dropped these new controllers and they are lasting 2months. this
is proposturesst i just want my controller to work and last properly especially since they're priced roughly $60 that's close to $100 for something thats not worth $15 if they break in few days or weeks like my 2nd lasted 4 days.

looking to get a headset...

I'm looking to get a headset for my xbox one, as I've got one of the new controllers with the 3.5mm jack, my question is, can I use ANY headset with this that has a 3.5mm jack, even if its one of those cheap $10 cellphone headsets, provided it has
the required 3.5mm jack?

Controller right stick drift after update

Ive had 3 controllers with stick drift & 2 controllers where the 3.5mm jack crapped out.

Sorry to say, but sounds like you treat your Controllers like Garbage. If you treat your Controllers with respect and take care of them they can last you a lifetime. Stop throwing them in the wall and chew on them if you lose in games.

I have Controllers to this day that are 10-12+ years old. Some even older. And still going strong.

i personally have had two elites left bumpers come loose n fall off in the second case, bought a black x1 cntroller in jan last year roughly 90 dollars for it stop working 2 weeks later with a hot area whilst charging under right thumbstick, the quality
has gone downhill i would only recommend gettn them somewhere that offers warranty replacement. i had only owned elite fer 6mnths and had to replace twice. returning too the default makes me realize that all the "refinement" should be included in contr you
get with the console you paid 500+ for not this childs toy of a thing for 84-99 w/o charging equipment also..

In order for the 3.5mm headset to work you will need a recent controller with 3.5mm jack. Unless it's an original Xbox One controller from 2013, your controller should have such a 3.5mm jack. Just look at the bottom connector of the Xbox controller. If there
is a 3.5 mm plug next to the USB-like connector on the left, you're good to go. Otherwise you'd need the stereo adaptor or a newer controller.

As for the headset: Make sure it's 3.5mm jack is according to the CTIA specification. There are two major standards for 3.5mm headset jacks: OMTP and CTIA. Both standards have the microphone and ground connection reversed. So if you have an OMTP compliant
headset, the microphone will not work without getting a CTIA to OMTP adapter. You can get those adapters online or in cellphone shops. This adapter simply reverses two wires, so they should be dirt cheap. If a shop wants more than the price of a coffee to
go you're being ripped off for that adapter.

The more recent versions of the Xbox One controller have a 3.5mm jack on the bottom. Older Xbox One controllers require an adapter.

Basically if your controller has a 3.5mm jack on the bottom you are good to go, and if you're buying a new controller I think they all have the 3.5mm jack these days. It's only if you have an early controller you need the adapter.

Chances are your pc headset uses the 3.5mm headphone jack, which, unfortunately the xbox 360 controllers use a 1.8mm.

The only real solution is getting a headset that can be used on both, might I suggest turtlebeaches x11's.

Cheap and easy to set up. PM if you need any other advice.
