Chatpad Orange Button Blinking after Update

Hi,

I am using the regular Xbox One controller (w/o the built in headphone jack) with the Chatpad attached on Windows 10. After installing the Xbox Accessories App and then running the controller update via USB, the orange circle button wont stop blinking and
the chatpad is unusable.

I have tried uninstall/reinstall of the Xbox Accessories App, b.t it still says that my controller has no update available. As of this writing firmware version is 2.3.2381.0

Please help fix this issue, I have seen similar posts on this forum but no clear answer. I do not have access to an Xbox One console to try running update from there.

Chatpad isnt working after update. Using on windows 10

I was using the chatpad just fine then I plug it in with a usb to update it. It went through 3 updates then after the chatpads the orange button started blinking.

Update your console to the most recent Xbox One operating system. The chatpad requires your console to have a November 2015 (or later) update. For more information, see Xbox One operating system versions and system updates.

Turn on your Xbox One Controller.

Insert the chatpad into the controller.

Update your Xbox One Controller. The orange LED will blink to indicate that it's connected and requires an update. See Update your Xbox One Controller for more information.

Connect a 3.5-mm audio headset cable to the chatpad. For more information, see Connecting a compatible headset to Xbox One.

The orange blinking light means it needs an update, it says "You must update both your Xbox One console and your Xbox One Controller for the Xbox One Chatpad to work correctly."

Since your using it with your PC, attach a micro usb cable, run a update scan for Windows & Microsoft updates, and make sure all drivers are installed.

I have already performed the update, now at ver. 2.3.2381.0 no other controller update available as per the Xbox Accessories app, but still the chatpad is unusablle and the orange light still blinks.

Sorry to necro this thread, but I was wondering if a resolution was ever found? I am having the exact same problem with my XBox One chatpad on Windows 10. I plugged it in for the first time today, tested it in Steam Big Picture, and it worked great (immediately
could type into the search box using it). Then I went to the Accessories app, it updated, and since then it won't work - just blinks orange. It updated to 2.3.2381.0. Wikipedia suggests the latest firmware is actually 2.3.2385.0, but the Accessories app isn't
updating to that.

I have two controllers, and it is exactly the same for both.

Please help.

 

I rang the helpline and they suggested that I reset the console (Settings, System, Console Info, Reset Console and Reset and Keep My Games and Apps) which I did.

After re-entering a few details during the restart, we tried fitting the Chatpad and the orange light kept flashing!

The helpdesk operator had to go and consult her supervisor again so whilst waiting I did this:-

Went into Settings, Kinect & Devices, Devices & Accessories, Device Info (On the screen with the controller photo) and on the left of the screen in the bottom box it said:-

Connected Devices Xbox Chatpad Not Updated, I selected the box and it installed the Chatpad Update, the Orange Light went out on the Chatpad and the Chatpad worked fine
