Chatpad - Loud static if the headset plug is knocked/moved

When I've got my Astro A40s plugged into the Chatpad, if I knock/move the plug where it's connected to the headset, it causes loud static noises that everyone in the party can hear. Sometimes even just moving the headset cable causes it to happen. It's really
annoying.

I've seen people complaining about this on Reddit and YouTube, but I can't find a fix for it. The firmware is up to date. The headset plug is clean. The Chatpad is brand new. One guy on Reddit sent his back because of it and got a replacement, but the replacement
had the same issue.

Is it just a case of MS using a super cheap socket or something?

I'm having issues with my Xbox one adapter.

So recently my adapter has been bugging out. Every time i plug my mic in the adapter it will start to make static noises when it is slightly moved. I've noticed that the chord you have to plug the headset into and then the adapter itself is the problem.
When I plug the headset chord into the piece it will start to make static noises before it's plugged into the adapter. I feel as if there is a hardware problem with the chord that comes with the adapter. I can't talk to people without them hearing loud static.
Does anyone know what I should do?

 

Headset static buzz

Hello my headset has a static buzz every time i plug in my turtle Beach x12 headset. It would get louder and louder the more i put in the volume. Any tip?

It seems to be an issue that is NOT specifically related to the headset. I just got (last month) a chat pad, and I have 2 chat headsets - The original and one with a Boom mic (Kama Stereo Headset) and I can hear static in both, so it may be something related
to the plug connections, but if hearing noise, there may be a problem with the socket. I am not sure if there is just a really bad socket or if it is related to the chatpad.

If you have the new 3.5 mm plug on your xbox one controller, try and see if you get the same problem if you DON'T use the chatpad, and let me know

I don't get static when using a controller with a 3.5mm socket, nor do I get it when using an MS headset adapter, so it does seem like it's an issue with the Chatpad's socket.

I had my Chatpad replaced and the replacement does the exact same thing. I've also seen a number of negative reviews mentioning this issue, so I think the product is inherently faulty.

 

I just bought one and have the same issue crackling.... I tried iphone headphones and all i get is a high pitch ring

My turtle beach arent working with it. Ill be returning it tomorrow. Real piece of garbage
