    Ok, this is crazy. After I took off the chat pad from the controller and waited some time, the device info on my controller now says that the chatpad is connected (even though it is not), and I am able to customize the X1 and X2 buttons.

    I've just tried my friend's chatpad on my Xbox One S with the latest update and firmware update for my controller. My friend was using it on Windows 10. The chatpad works properly, however, when I go to settings - devices - and open my controller's settings,
    the button for "customize" the chatpad is nowhere to be found and the device info does not say the chatpad is connected. Therefore, it is impossible to map X1 and X2 buttons (functionality proposed in Set Up the Xbox One Chatpad).

    Please, can you tell me whether you ended support for this functionality, or if it is just a bug?

    Some of the functions for my chatpad are not working. I recently upgraded to an elite controller and now the x1 and x2 buttons do not work on my chatpad. All other buttons work, I have checked the settings and firmware updates are the latest. I have the
    x buttons set to screenshot and record that.

    Controller/ChatPad and/or Xbox One S Issue

    Haven't posted in ages!!!

    Ok so, the first issue that I noticed was my Xbox One S stopped turning on when I would hold down the button on the controller. It turns on and runs fine when I turn it on with the power button, mild annoyance.

    Then my ChatPad just up and stopped working! The dang thing lights up and everything, but won't type anymore. I had my son try the controller on his Xbox One S with his ChatPad, works fine! Very annoying! I play a game that I use my ChatPad A LOT.

    I tried to update them both, says no update for either. So it does still recognize the ChatPad!! What's wrong with my Xbox?!

    Chatpad won't fit XBOXOne S controller

    Hi there Daring,

    I tried my chatpad on my Controllers (Elite, regular, and the same white one you showed) and it fits on all of them.

    The photos are great to show the equipment, but it didn't really show the connection issue.

    When you say doesn't fit, is it tough to push it on and get it to click in? Do the ports not line up?

    I do know the first several times I tried to connect a chatpad to any of the controllers it was tough. I had to line up the connectors and push hard to get it connected. Almost felt like I was going to break it (or the controller buttons), but I made sure
    the ports all lined up when I would connect it. I had the same issue with the chatpad for the 360.

    Now that the chatpad has been on a controller for a while, it's much easier to move it from one controller to the next.

    Yea I had the latest update and then when I first attached the Chatpad it prompted me to update again. So far today, no problems wired, or wireless.

    Keep the 360 controller, improve the D pad and ship every controller with a chatpad and give an option to map in game functions for the chatpad buttons, like different weapons/actions for certain buttons. No ******** screens, nobody should want to look at
    the controller while playing, that's str8 up retarted.

    Mic not working with chat pad

    I have the same problem, and this only happenned since the 14th of March. This appears to be a software issue; The microphone works when plugged into the chatpad; if I adjust the mic monitor settings I can hear myself, but the party cannnot hear me when using the chatpad. I've confirmed both the controller and chatpad are up to date wrt software updates, so I suspect that an xbox console update may be the cause. Please help. I'm using an xbox one x, elite controller gen 1 with the chatpad.
