Chatpad & Forza controller not updating

I tried several times to plug in and update the forza controller I have with the chatpad firmware, but it will not give me the prompt. I tried going into the system and manually updating the firmware on the controller and same thing, says no firmware available.
I plugged the chat pad into another controller and bam it updated right away. Tried it again in the forza controller and again it does not see the chatpad. Anyone else having this issue?

Did you try updating your controller after adding the chatpad?

 

Elite controller no longer works with chat pad unless power cable is inserted.

As above. I have tried the chatpad on another controller and it works fine on battery only. I have tried updating the controller with the chatpad attached but no update is needed. I've tried other batteries! Elite controller works fine with or without
chatpad but chatpad gets no power from controller unless power cable is plugged in.

Any ideas?

 

Can you confirm what firmware version the controller is running at there is a possibility that no controller update is required.

 

The forza controller has 2.3.2385.0. The controller that is working with the chat pad is one of the older camo controllers without the wireless update ability and it has 2.3.2381.0 on it.

Oh and I did try both wireless and wired to update the forza controller.

 

Oh Even with the newer firmware I cannot type anything with it plugged in either, it does not respond at all in the forza controller.

 

I just played with it some more and managed to get it working. Even with the chat pad firmly pressed all the way in, I wiggled it up and down and it finally made a good connection where it finally sees it now. I had tried re-seating it several times earlier,
but the wiggling seems to have fixed it. Also in comparison to the chat pad of the 360 this one is more flimsy were the 360 was rock solid to the controller, this one flops around.
