    I agree with Viral, if it wasn't for the smartglass app, I would get extremely frustrated with sending messages on the xbox one.

    I can understand why you would like a chatpad, but if you have a smartphone, or tablet, the smartglass app is probably better.

    yeah i have smart glass on my iphone i just keep forgetting to use it i would still like to have the option of the chatpad tho.

    I have smart glass on my phone, my problem is the kids or misses are generally playing on it when I want it.

    I liked the extra weight that the chatpad gave the 360 pad so would welcome this for XB1.

    Hi, there is smart glass but I have also got a old wireless blue tooth pc keyboard linked up to one of the usb ports of the xbox one.

    this leaves my controller port free for my headset.

    its normally quicker to pickup the keyboard and type than it is to get the smart glass fired up. or as above it could be in other use.

    I totally agree . Don't know what I would do without on the 360 . Just saves so much time typing messages or typing search titles on you tube or netflix . If they smart . Then they make it happen lok

    Yeah but smart glass can't be used in every option of every game for example searching threw the auction house on madden chatpad would be very helpful.

    Hello yammerbox.

    See the quote below:

    Connecting the Xbox One Chatpad for the first time

    You must update both your Xbox One console and your Xbox One Controller for the Xbox One Chatpad to work correctly. Follow these steps:

    Update your console to the most recent Xbox One operating system. The chatpad requires your console to have a November 2015 (or later) update. For more information, see Xbox One operating system versions and system updates.

    Turn on your Xbox One Controller.

    Insert the chatpad into the controller.

    Update your Xbox One Controller. The orange LED will blink to indicate that it's connected and requires an update. See Update your Xbox One Controller for more information.

    Connect a 3.5-mm audio headset cable to the chatpad. For more information, see Connecting a compatible headset to Xbox One.

    The orange blinking light means it needs an update, it says "You must update both your Xbox One console and your Xbox One Controller for the Xbox One Chatpad to work correctly."

    Since your using it with your PC, attach a micro usb cable, run a update scan for Windows & Microsoft updates, and make sure all drivers are installed.
