Chatmixer greyed out on xbox series x when using Xbox Wireless Headset.

Hi all,

Ive been using the original Xbox Wireless headset for few months now and since today i can not hear any voice chat sounds, Mic is working and if i play audio through TV i hear the recordings of my mic but when i use the headset i dont hear any chat sounds. I tried 2 other headsets and it works fine then.

I also noticed the party chat mixer is greyed out and maxed to < (console), it seems that causes the problem.
the Wireless headset works fine on my PC when plugged into with cable, tried resetting audio, xbox and the headset.

Also use Dolby atmos pack, i disabled it but still no luck.

how to fix this?

Just to confirm, can you hear game sounds or system sounds through your wireless headset?

my headset is plugged into the controller but it wont let me do anything to the chat mixer and the chatmixer bit is greyed out.

The problem is not with any XBOX console, but when you use the headset with Windows 10. Only on PC you have such problems.

Yes, it's connected with xbox wireless adapter.

I have XBOX SERIES X and there is not problem there.

What I want is a "wireless" over one ear device (like the old 360 had years ago) to use with the Xbox One/Series X. I purchased the Hyperkin X88 Wireless Legacy Headset for Xbox and the sound quality is terrible, my friends didn't even want me using it
as it sounded so bad on their end. I am left to try and figure something else out, such great technology in the Xbox Series X but they are stuck with 15 year old headset technology.
