    Chat with Kinect on new home


    With the latest update of the dashboard
    of the first of November I can not chat with
    the Kinect sensor. On chat
    I appear to me that I have the microphone
    disconnected. I tried to
    reconfigure Kinect (and tells me that
    everything is OK), I tried to
    reconnect it to the console, but nothing.
    Chatto only with headphones that
    connect to the controller. What to do?

    Did this really just happen?

    Wait.. I think we just discovered a new form of trolling. Headsets are not included with the X1, right? Which means that there will be people out there using Kinect to chat. You could probably shout, "Xbox, go HOME!" and return everyone to the dashboard..

    Headset works on skype but not party chat

    Hey SteelCityShadow!

    Lets try this: from the Home screen lets go to Settings>Kinect>Uncheck "use kinect microphone for chat"

    Let us know if that helps!

    Kinect sound and speech!,

    From Xbox Home:

    1.) Press the menu (start) button

    2.) Go to settings

    3.) Go to Kinect

    4.) Check the box that says "use kinect microphone for chat"

    5.) Do not use kinect microphone for chat. It sounds bad and you will annoy the fecal matter out of your friends when they hear every little thing happening in your house.

    Mic Broken?

    Hi Kyle!

    From your home screen, press the menu button and select "settings" then go to "kinect" then all you need to do is uncheck the box that says "Use Kinect microphone for chat" and it should then use the mic instead.
