chat support - can they be any worse ?

I recently had an issue where I was unable to manage the payment options on a child's account.

I contacted the support hoping they would be offer assistance, but was met wit hpeople who could not be bothered reading the questions, or the follow up discussions as we chat.

eventually asked to escalate to a manager, who clearly hates his job and could not care less about the service he provides.

when I insisted on getting a resolution to my issue, he sent me a link to a page that describes how to do what was clearly not working for me. when I persisted in seeking a resolution he ended the chat session

how do I file a complaint against the support personnel? and how do I get an actual resolution to a problem that was not addressed already?

Could the party chat be any worse?

Same issue here.

I can hear my friends fine. Everyone in the party has Open NAT, including myself.

I have tried 4 different headsets and the mic on all of them work as I can chat to other people using Skype, in-game chat, etc on PC.

I have tried 2 different controllers, one with a stereo headset adaptor and one with the 3.5mm headset jack.

All of these combinations above has been tried over 3 different routers using 2 different connections (1 ADSL and 2 LTE Broadband modems) with Open NAT on all of them.

Could the party chat be any worse?

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone else experiences general unusability with chat. Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't. I just spend another 45 minutes trying to get the party chat to work. NAT was open. I could hear my buddy, but he couldn't hear me. I could
hear myself in my headphones so I know it wasn't my headphones. I haven't touched my router or network configs in months.

The funny thing is it worked last week.

The usual things don't work (restart, disconnect/reconnect, reboot router, reboot xbox). Of course those are the typical Microsoft fixes (reboot, reinstall, reload).

Right now I'm just using teamspeak with the game on tv speakers. It's ghetto, but at least I don't have to spend an hour rebooting everything and hoping that helps.

Anyone else constantly have this issue?

For billing issues it's best to contact phone support to speak to billing 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the us/canada or you should be able to request a call at

that could be, but surely ... such a simple matter.... 90 minutes searching on line, 2:30 hours with no hint of resolution....

frank, and dion - as useful as ashtrays on a motorbike

my question is , though, how do I file a complaint when a manager cuts off my chat session because he cant be bothered looking for a solution, and is unhappy with me insisting I want a resolution not a workaround that does not address my issues - surely
that's why they are there for....

I have the exact same issue but only while streaming with my laptop. I have windows 10 so I have been taking advantage of the streaming feature to play without disturbing family TV time. I play on my laptop and they get to use the Television,
it was the best thing (at least that's what I thought at first). However, as soon as I tried to play with my friends while streaming, they could never hear me and on some occasions, I couldn't hear them. My headset is giving me feedback and if I connected
it my laptops recording device, the mic catches my voice just fine. After being fed up with a whole month of trying to use the mic, I bought a new Xbox One S with the hope that, that may help. It didn't. I finally bought a new headset--same result.

Adding to that, I have searched for answers online with nothing actually structured for an answer. Many people are experiencing this same problem as you and haven't been able to get a real answer. Network settings and privacy setting may be changed to "fix"
the issue, but it seems to rarely work since many people in these forums claim that it didn't work and beg for help.

Your buddy needs to check the NAT type on his side as well.
