Chat Problem, Kinect interferences.

Great suggestion you have there. The best place for ideas like yours to be seen by the right people is in the

wishlist/feedback forums. Create a post and send it there to be seen by the right individuals that call possibly make that a reality.

Your controller/console was bugged, but the 3D glasses WILL get interference because they also use IR. Get proper cinema 3D glasses if you want 3D.

I believe I know what the problem is. Mine was working fine, chat coming through headset but then it reversed itself. I believe this was due to selecting "Use Kinect microphone for chat" under Settings>Kinect>Use Kinect microphone for chat. After I unselected
it the headset was again providing chat ability and not my TV/speakers.

Sorry but that is not at all related to what I said the issue is. Perhaps i should have been more thorough but i thought it was clear that I was referring to party/game chat, not kinect commands.

The problem is that although I can hear both game and voice chat through my headset, the headset mic will not transmit voice. If the kinect option for 'use kinect for in game chat' is on, other people in the game/party tell me my kinect is acting as the
reciever, if the option is off, nothing will transmit at all.

After a look through the forums it seems there are a number of similar threads so it looks like this is a widespread problem with how kinect or game chat is set up.

Support is giving a bit of a run-around on that. It's definitely a game-specific issue. I have a headset which is 5.1 surround, and the microphone plugs in with a completely separate cable which was designed for the 360. SO, I can't plug that mic in, which
is actually better, because I know there is no way the mic can be interfering with the Kinect mic. Even still, I get no "in-game voice" in Call of Duty (not talking about Party Chat.)

Quite simply, if all you have plugged in is an optical cable to the back of the Xbox, there is no way for that to flummox the Kinect mic. You could plug the optical cable into the Optical Out on the back of the TV, and that wouldn't interfere either, but
I'm betting the Kinect mic still wouldn't work.

I've been a tech specialist and trainer for about 13 years now, so I'm no stranger to hardware conflicts. Let's just say, if my VCR is unplugged and in a box in my closet, I'm pretty sure it won't interfere with my Blu-Ray player's ability to play discs.
Likewise, an unplugged mic isn't going to interfere with the Kinect Mic....
