Chat only works when party is snapped

I recently got a Turtle Beach XO Four and am still figuring it all out however I ran into a weird issue. We created a party and were chatting completely fine with no issue. We were both playing a game and my party was still snapped off to the side. When
I unsnapped the party chat I could no longer hear him and he could no longer hear me but when I reshaped it everything when back to how it should be. Is this a common issue with party chat?

I am having the same issue where party chat audio only functions when the party app is snapped.

How many are having the problem of Party Chat only working when the window is Snapped to the side? Once you unsnap the Party window, all audio from chat is muted. Those of us having issues, am sure would appreciate some solutions or feedback. Thank you.

I was very confused at why it was doing this. We were playing Destiny and in a party chat so I unsnapped it to play the game in all its glory and I could no longer hear him. Opened it back up and it worked fine. We ended up just talking in our Destiny in
game party but I would like to figure out this issue incase it persists

 

This same thing just happened to a friend of mine while we were playing the Destiny Beta. In fact, I assumed it was him who made this thread. After we had played for a while, it wouldn't let me launch any missions because it was "stabilizing party". Seems
pretty obvious to me this isn't an issue with your headset, it's an issue with Destiny. Finding issues like this is exactly the purpose of a beta.

 

Okay that puts me at ease that it isn't a headset issue since I just bought it. Now where to I go to post feedback to the beta to make note of this incident? Im sure others have done so already but if everyone had that mentality then nothing would be reported.

 

Try the Bungie.net forums to leave feedback about the beta. Like Sword said this is isolated to strictly Destiny, try party chat while both of you are in a different game and it should work fine.

 

Bungie already issued a statement saying they are aware of the issue and are working on it. But for now, make sure you start up a party and have everyone join before loading up the beta

 

snap the party, press the menu button click game chat, there are benefits of being in game chat for destiny.

 

^^ Really? I was in game chat and besides the guy I was playing with no on else was in game chat. And we came across a few solo players. Or maybe they were just really terrible teammates.

 

I was in with one other player in my fireteam who has the same issue as the op, so we went into game chat, but when we went into confined spaces the chat sounded different, it added echos and effects depending where you were, and when we were outside it
was normal. Very cool, and missed if your in party chat. (unless it was a freak of nature)

I posted about this in the preview forums. I thought it was just me and me being in the update preview but that's not the case. Ok so I'll have to start the party before I launch the Destiny beta. I tried so many different solutions that I'm not sure if
I tried this one or not but I'll go back and see. Thanks!

 

^^Thats not even a solid solution as I did it several times and still had the problem. Game chat is the best option. You will only communicate with your fireteam.
