Chat not workiing with Xbox Game bar, companion app, or xbox app

My xbox party chat does not work. I am unable to join parties in the game bar and xbox app. I get an error saying there has been a problem and I get a code 0x00000000.

In the companion app I can join the party and sometimes can hear the other person for a couple of seconds before it cuts out. I can see that it is picking up my voice but they cannot hear me and I cannot hear them.

I have tried several different headphones

have checked to make sure my network is working

varified my privacy settings are allowing all the apps to access my mic

changed it so my audio settings are formatted to 2 channel 16 bit 4800 hz checked that my teredo is enabled working as it should.

I'm kinda at my wits end trying to get this to work. If there is anything I can do to fix this please let me know.

I'm pretty sure that the Xbox Console Companion app is now outdated. You should probably use the new Xbox app.

Is your issue related to using your mic in the actual app or your mic using Game Bar?

Game Bar party chat is much better than the app's built-in party chat and will most definitely pick up your mic.

(You can activate Game Bar by pressing Win + G)

You can also change your default mic in the Settings in the Sound tab.

Hey there

Has far has i understand it the companion app old name xbox app doesnt have party chat or notes for some things like game invites and party invites these are now done though game bar.

The app itsself is a compaion app for things like streaming too PC checking the store messages
