Chat isn't working (Both mic and kinect)

Simply put like the title; both the headset (xbox one headset) and the kinect is not allowing me to chat in a part chat.

Things Ive tried:

• Unplugging and replugging the mic
• power on/off the controller
• tried a brand new controller
• updated controller
• tried kinect by enabling the mic-for-chat function and still nothing

All of these had no response on the party chat (no green circle flashing in the party chat app)



Other things to be aware of:

Nothing was bumped for sure. Also the weird thing is my buddy (same guy that was in the party chat when this happened to me) had mic issues on last saturday. His mic was making static noises and made it sound like he was using a blutooth headset out of
range even though it was a normal wired headset but he was able to hear me the whole time. He had to purchase a new one which worked I am not wanting to purchase a new one now knowing this is a reoccurring issue.

Mic Issue

So I can hear my friend talking in party chat, but my mic is not doing anything when I try and speak. Even when I unplug it, the kinect mic isn't working either. Help?

 

Xbox One Wired Mic not working

I've tried both replacing batteries and plugging in controller and nothing seems to work. The Mic was working fine until I tried to restart console to get party chat working which it froze restarting so I hard reset it and now Mic isn't working but lights
up makes sound but nothing else.
