Chat is impossible!

Hi there. Ever since yesterday with all the packet loss stuff... well, my friends and I can all get online now, but we can't talk! In-game doesn't work, the party chat app doesn't work... and it isn't just between me and people. It's others on their own,
too. Any ideas?

Voice chat and joining games is impossible.

I have been having connection problems for the past week and I still don't know the source. When I am in Xbox LIVE Parties my voice is heard for only a few seconds and then I'm muted for a long period of time. I also can't connect to any friends games.

My service provider has been having a lot of problems lately but we have another xbox in the house that experiences lag but can still talk to people and connect. My neighbors are also having problems but none of theirs are as bad as mine.

Is it possible that my actual xbox is the cause of my trouble?

It's not my controller. I used several different ones.

It's not my external wireless adaptor. I used several others to test.

It's not my microphone. I just bought a new one and tried with several others.

 

Check the xbox live service in your area and if that doesn't help make sure your connection has open NAT settings.
