Chat headset and adapter cable is garbage.

This is the worst thing made by microsoft yet. The cable for the chat headset and the headset adapter is the crappiest cable ever made. It is tiny and flat and flimsy with no coating which leads to the breakdown of the cable inside. The original headset
I got with the console no longer works because the cable has deteriorated at the base where it connects. To fix that problem, I bought a headset adapter to use my own. The same garbage cable comes with that. That cable is now broken. To get a replacement,
I need the serial number. AS IF I SAVED THE BOX FOR A *** HEADSET ADAPTER. This cable is cleary garbage and you know it. Make a new cable and in the meantime replace mine.

Turtle Beach X41 Compatibility

Those cables should work fine. The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter is only necessary if you want to chat with the headset. Headset/chat question that needs answering

I have a Tritton AX 720 headset that I use for my Xbox One (plugged into the rear optical audio port). However, to receive chat audio that will allow me to talk too, it needs to be plugged into the controller via a cable.

My question is: if I get the Xbox One stereo headset adapter and connect the headset to it, will I still be able to get game audio via the optical cable? Or will it be forced into stereo mode because it's plugged into the adapter?

It will have to be wired to the controller and must buy a xbox 360 to xbox one chat adapter for your controller. You can use the mobile cable that came with the headset as the cable from the adapter to the headset.

This is correct. Using the Xbox One Stereo Adapter (support.xbox.com/.../stereo-headset-adapter), you can use any of the following types of headsets:

As far as suggestions, that is a little harder for me to do. I am a huge gamer on console and PC and I strongly recommend Steelseries headsets, however, if you are an audiophile or use them for more multimedia related things, someone may be able to suggest
a better headset/headphones.
