Chat filtering makes ARK Survival Ascended almost unplayable.

Hello,

Please let us make the choice if we want our messages and typed text in games filtered. On my game of choice Ark its absolutely brutal blocking words like "lol" and many more. Its even blocking any words with the character combination "th" "sm" and many more fundamental combinations in the English language.

Please don't suggest I disable any settings, im already running the lowest possible safety setting, I've tried all the power cycles and fully reinstalled the xbox OS. This is not a bug, its Microsoft filtering.

This was also confirmed by even the developers of ARK, stating: Unfortunately we can't help as this is an issue on Microsoft's side and overly aggressive filtering caused by the Xbox OS.

So please Microsoft... let us have a choice. I understand applying filtering for people's accounts under a certain age. I however am 25 and I cant type the word "lol" in a game? Please for the love of gaming look into this.

The issue you’re encountering in ARK: Survival Ascended on PC is in fact a chat filter implemented in the Microsoft Store and Xbox versions of the game that looks to keep social interactions safe for every user.

This filter is available in some aspects of the game, including chat, item searches, and creature naming.

As it exist for the safety of players, there’s no way to disable it.

You can adjust the message filtering.

Please, follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Message safety > Unfiltered.

After it's done, power cycle your console:

Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 60 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait at least 60 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

Plug the console power cable back in.

Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.
