    I record gameplay and don't want chat audio mixed with my game sound. How do I disable chat audio through the HDMI output? I only want it through my headset via the Headset Chat Adapter, thanks!

    the newer 3.5mm controller

    The chat headset is designed to only give you chat audio, and leave game audio coming through your television.

    Any other headset will give you both game and chat audio through the headset, whether you use the new controller or the older version with the headset adapter.

    Just got the new xbox one controller from UPS today with 3.5mm jack

    When you use this controller with a headset/headphones, is the game audio preset to come through headset/headphones or just party chat....or both?

    If using headset for game audio and chat, mute the TV or any device your game and chat audio is coming through and make sure 'chat' is set to output through headset only. If you have your tv volume up in the background while you're on the headset there
    will probably be echoing especially if you have your party audio set to output through your TV.

    There is no stereo headset for the 360 that only connects to the controller.

    The 360 controller only provides chat audio, there is no game audio transmitted through the 360 controller.

    The audio port is only built for headset voice chat.

    The wired headset that comes with the 360 is for in game chat only with other players.

    You will not hear game audio through it, for full game audio and chat you will need a full headset.

    An excellent budget headset to use with the 360 is something like the Turtle Beach X12, these connect through an additional adapter that plugs into the console itself.
