Chat adapter??? More money out of my pocket...

Well Xbox you have done it. I have been a long time user and fan but the day I went to set up my Xbox one and plug in my Astro's to find out I cant has left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I hate the fact that I have a $300 headset that I can not use because
Microsoft wants another $25 from me. I mean doesn't my subscription and the fact that I am buying your console enough. But for me to use something that I have used on the Xbox 360 and have used in the past and now can not has left me very disappointed. I have
called and talked to support and all and while they can not do anything about it and are very nice, all I get is it is what it is. How this is being interpreted is to shut my mouth and pay the $25 if I want to use my headset. I do not know if I am the only
one that feels this way but think of it this way. They do it once and can get away with it what makes you think they wont do it again? If anyone has any further info on this or someone that I can talk to that can tell me why they did this please point me in
the right direction.

They want more money not positive they're the ones that give out those rewards but it's definitely not money out of your pocket

 

Warning stop buying xbox one digital games

Microsoft have removed all my digital games from my xbox account, I am just an innocent buyer that is now out of pocket of money and games. And also Microsoft just confirmed to me that they are wanting more money from people including myself. Microsoft just
asked me to spend more money on the same games on the xbox games store. Which I am not gonna do.

 

Basically because they wanted to offer all audio through the controller. Game and audio chat using the 3.5mm TRRS jack so you could plug in the official MS headset, third party headset, or any old stereo headphone and have wireless audio The cost of a regular
controller would have gone up if all the extra circuits inside the chat adapter were built into every controller.

I originally just bought the chat adapter to use with my headsets AXPro and then Astro A50 I had bought to use with my 360 and PS3, but I've also used it plenty of times to plug in my earbuds so I can mute my TV while I play a game or watch a movie. Also
makes a nice incentive if you want a cheap wireless headset I've seen the official MS stereo headset which comes with the chat adapter for $50 which is a decent starting price compared to $100 or even $300 for others.

 

The chat adapter certainly could have been included with the console but just like their 360 audio adapter scam, they found a way to sell yet another accessory.

The price of the controller certainly shouldn't have went up with more components because I'm pretty sure that the X1 controller has less components then the DS4 and is still priced the same even without a rechargeable baytery included.

 

Not only that but the chat adopter is buggy/missing feature. There is crackling sound that you can hear when everything else is quiet like navigating though the dashboard screen. Also the adapter is also only in stereo so any surround sound headphone that
is plug in the controller won't get surround sound (it is rumor that the Turtle Beach XO headset suppose to be surround sound and that why they are overprice). If you want a console that doesn't have all this set back and bs then go get a PS4. The Xbox One
brand name does fit well for this console, because we went backward in features.

 

I've heard about this crackling issue and something like this will certainly keep me from buying the new console. You see, I paid more for my headphone setup then an Xbox One even costs and if I can't properly use it and have to resort to a gimmicky overpriced
Xbox compatible gamer headset, Microsoft has lost a customer for good.

I use the Sennheiser HD598's with an Astro Mixamp Pro and a $50 Mod Mic. There isn't a console gaming headset that even comes close. There's also no reason Microsoft couldn't just bypass the controller to begin with and give us the option to chat through
USB. PC does it and PS4 does it. Just not Xbox.

And I know my 0 rep, 0 games plsyed and CUL of 1 might make me look like a fanboy troll but that's not the case. I've been an Xbox gamer since the 2001 launch. I also used to be a pretty active member of these forums until I ran into problems with a couple
forum members and dumped tha account after my last Gold expired.

 

Oberon I am in the same boat as you. My headset which like yours cost more the the Xbox itself is now useless. When I call to talk to someone all I ever get is "it is what it is". Is that what you tell your customer? There needs to be some kind of change
to this big company thinking it can do what ever it wants to make more money. Stop trying to pull every penny from us. I was told to come here and express my feelings about this subject from support. I called and was basically told that there is no one to
talk to about this. The only thing I could do is talk to a supervisor. So I did. What did I get from him. Oh ya he understands my frustration but there was no one there that could help me. So they told me to come here. I told them it wouldn't make a difference.
If anyone that reads this knows who I can talk to about this please let me know. Can anyone in support help me with that.... Oh ya I thought so!
