Chat adapter issues and now controller issues

hi. ive had a problem with my chat adapter for about 2 weeks now. ive had it for a couple months now and it has worked great with my astro a50s and nothing has changed except for the part where it simply doesnt work anymore. for a while i used my old 2.5
cable that came with my old turtle beaches because i broke my astro 2.5 cable and it worked just fine. however the other day it simply stopped working. thinking the old turtle beach cable was simply at its end, i bought a new 2.5 cable on amazon and i was
all excited to be able to use my astros on the One again (i have been using the headset that came with the xbox one since this started). and it still didnt work. i should mention that all my cables work just fine on the 360 with my a50s so it cant be the cables
and must obviously be the adapter itself, the little cable that came with it, or what now may be the controller. what i mean by that is now my controller doesnt work! yes even more problems. as i was unplugging and blowing on ports and trying to get my new
setup to work, my controller shut off. and it wont turn back on. i have the play and charge kit which is plugged in and still wont work and yada yada yada its not that because i simply put some AA batteries in the controller and it still doesnt work. i assume
i will have to throw more money into the microsoft money pit and just buy a new controller and whatever but i just wanted to write this little essay and see if anyone can help me out

Anybody else having chat issues with the Polk 4 Shots?

I've had some issues as well with the adapter and my own headsets. Looking it up it appears there are several other reports of staticky game and chat audio as well as controller disconnects and lock-ups.

Problems after controller update

headset adapter seems now to have a mind of its own after I updated controller, no chat or game sound then it eventually comes back sometimes really loud , any answers, anybody else with s@me issues

I'm having similar issues. Upgraded the firmware on the controller first. The headset works great for Game Audio wirelessly from the transmitter, but as soon as I plug it into the Microsoft Chat Adapter, game audio begins dropping out and chat doesn't function.
When I unplug the headset from the Chat Adapter game audio works great.

The chat adapter seems to be the issue.

Any ideas?

I will share with you my two cents after having this same issue on my BRAND NEW XB1 Sunset bundle controller.

Controller turns off instantly after plugging in either the headset adapter OR chat headset. Controller firmware is up to date, performed hard reset, tested with friends controllers and headsets ect.

Bottom line is, this is either an outstanding firmware issue that they have yet to resolve or their is an issue in their manufacturing processes that causes defective controllers to shut off when any chat adapter is plugged in.

Thanks for coming to forums with your question and creating a new thread. Have found that a chat pad, or an adapter help with this issue. Reason being is the 3.5 mm will go through the pad or adapter instead of controller directly. Personally I have not
really found a fix either as I have issue at home too. I do use an adapter now and it works.

recently bought a pair of tritton pro+ headset and chat adapter, chat volume is really low after turning it up through the adapter and headset, just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue? also updated controller too.
