Charged after xbox game pass free trial despite not having any money to pay it

If I remember correctly, Paypal will charge a payment method attached to it if a charge is presented that exceeds the available funds in the Paypal account. If you subscribe using Paypal or a credit card, it is assumed you want to keep it, so it's up to
you to cancel it (via the
Account website) prior to the end of the subscription; put another way, Microsoft has no way to know what's in your Paypal account prior to the charge, so they can't e-mail you.

If you want subscriptions that end at their conclusion, you will want to use prepaid cards. When those expire, and you have no payment method attached (or auto-renew turned off), they simply end.

request a refund for what you have paid.

Subscription Management page. Cancelling a subscription within a few days of renewal will give you an automatic refund. This page will also allow you to turn auto renewal off/on. Hope this helps!

I had just remembered that it apparently renewed itself about a week and a half before it was actually supposed to end meaning that I was charged long before it should have charged me any money. My refund was also denied without microsoft even acknowledging
that the free trial lasts for 1 month and it shouldn't have charged me until the free trial was actually over.

Edit: The code that I used for it was the one that came with my xbox one s and the thing said it lasted for 1 month, confirming that microsoft scammed me and made it last a shorter time. The website had apparently said 14 days even though I also used an
xbox live gold free trial that came with the console that also lasted 14 days but ended before my game pass free trial ended.
