Charged a year for gold

I haven't played my xbox much in the past year due to moving country. I haven't actually touched it or my old bank account for a long time due to not being in the country.

But I've just found that I've been charged for another year of gold live. My bank account is safe, I've been checking those records. My xbox is safe, my account has not been hacked either. I did not sign up for any "auto renewable" charges. So I can only
assume this is a screw up on Microsoft's behalf.

The support system on the xbox site is a labyrinth, is there a number I can call to get this sorted? Thanks for any help.

so buy a year GOLD from a gaming retails store...or whatever GOLD subsribtion your card is trying to be charged for. it MUST be the GOLD time your card is trying to be charged for

 

I want a regular Gold membership, not Family, but Family is the only option I'm given!

The account hasn't been renewed yet (it hasn't charged the credit card for another year yet). The membership will stay what it is (an Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack) until the point that it is charged for another year. I wanted to make it so that when I was
charged for another year (on the new card), I would be charged for a standard Xbox LIVE Gold membership. Basically, I was trying to purchase the new membership NOW, so that when it went to charge the new card for another year, it would charge for a standard
Xbox LIVE Gold membership. However, the only option being given to me to select is an Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack. Maybe it is a bug. If the next option I'm given here doesn't work, I'll contact phone support.

 

Unless you turned off auto renewal then you would be charged.

You would need to contact support
support.xbox.com/.../contact-us as they are the only ones who can deal with billing issues.

 

whenever you buy gold from the console via the dashboard it will turn on auto renewal by default and unless you turn it off before the next renewal it will charge you for another subscription depending on which one you got (you buy a month it renews for
a month after month, a year it renews for a year after year etc).

 

I have been trying to contact xbox account support via the contact us and the talk to an ambassador options and all I get oops you have discovered a glitch.

This is really annoying as I am trying to contact them regarding a xbox live code that I bough but can't use. Ggggrrrrrrr.
