Charge and play kit issues

I got my xbox one s 2 weeks ago and bought the microsoft charge and play kit same day. It was working fine until today. If i unplug the cord from the back of my controller it tells me my batteries are low. I can play as long as I
leave it in. Ive left in in for hours and still the minute I unplug it tells me batteries are low. Also the light is always White which means its fully charged I believe, but xbox tells me its "critical low" when I go to my devices from the dashboard... Any
    suggestions or fixes? Thanks...

    :)

    Play and Charge Kit Issues

Yeah I tried another cable and that didn't fix the problem. The battery life when used wirelessly is still awful.

You might try a different USB cord from the Xbox to the controller. You might try and plug your USB cable and controller into your PC and see if it charges there or try other USB ports on the Xbox as well.

I didn't have much luck with my play and charge kit either but mine did last longer than two weeks.

I did switch to some AA NiMH rechargeable Amazon Basics and a separate wall charger. The battery life lasts a lot longer than the little battery pack and the batteries charge faster.

You could try and pull your batteries out of the controller, hard reset the Xbox by holding down the power button for 15 seconds. Then restart the Xbox and re-sync the controller back to the Xbox and see if any of that helps.

Stupid question but I assume you are using the rechargeable battery pack and not regular AA's???

I stopped using the battery pack. It just doesn't hold the charge like I thought it would. The rechargeable AA batteries have lasted so much longer than the battery pack.

I wanted to pass along my experience and what I'm using. The cost for the AA battery charger and 4 AA NiMH batteries was the same if not less than the play and charge kit.

    Hello Mark,

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand having issues with the play and charge kit. The battery pack could be faulty. Here is a troubleshoot

guide for the play and charge kit
    you can try out.

    Thanks,

Issues with Play and Charge kits

Its probably a controller issue because my friend had the same issue and got a new controller and that fixed it.
do you run any other devices through the USB of the xbox (headset, kinect, live cam, etc)?
Up until a few weeks ago, no - ran no other devices on the 360. Have just got a Kinect, but the issue well pre-dates that.

In answer to the second point, yes; I let my controller run flat before recharging.

Issues with Play and Charge Kits
When you believed that it was the controller, did the behavior change when getting the new controller?
What made me think the problem had been fixed initially, was that the controller continued to charge after shutting down the console; this had not happened previously (although it kept charging indefinitely).

This happens rarely though - the majority of the time it continues to stop charging after a minute, then report as full when starting up (regardless of charge level). I have not had either of the kits charge correctly at any stage.

I have tried charging the controller via a PC which is in another room. The behaviour was identical. I am not suffering from any interference that I know of - all other electronic devices in the house function perfectly.
