Character completely reset

Freeing up space hasn't worked as well as I had hoped. The game still freezes and completely resets back to Level 1.

 

It looks to me like there isn't going to be an imminent fix to our crash and reset problems.

Here is my fix to keep your hard earned tools (Hearts ,dynamite ,pickaxes)

Sign in on another computer, load the game from the cloud, you will now have a copy of your game

on that machine and can reload your saved version from it at any time.

 

The crash problem seems to have gotten better, even though there have been no updates to the game. I'm assuming that an update to Windows 8.1/Windows Store/Xbox app partially fixed the problem.

I was previously stalled out around level 40. I was now able to make it to level 152 with just one crash to the beginning of the level around level 80 that didn't reset my permanent upgrades.

However, I just crashed at the bonus level on level 152, and was completely reset. I was one Pickaxe Belt away from being fully equipped, and just lost it all. I must've played 20-25 levels, but kept getting offered shields I didn't need, instead of the
last belt.

Thanks for the tip, BodoBull. As I don't have another Windows 8.1 device, I'm going to try using a different Windows account on the same machine to sync with.

 

UPDATE:

I just restored a backup of the entire "/AppData/Local/Packages/Treasure Hunt" directory from a backup made on December 28th, and I'm back on Level 47. Not the best solution, but better than starting from Level 1. It looks like I'll have to run an hourly
backup during any future marathon playing sessions.

 

I was on level 131 this morning. I went into the dungeon. At the point when the advertising link would normally begin, the game abruptly exited. When I restarted it, I'm back at the beginning - level 1. I tried it from another computer and got the same results.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help.

It had to be something to do with the ad link because Sudoku did the same thing. When it got to the point of showing the advertisement, it abruptly exited too.

They are both up now but I'm still back at level 1 in Treasure Hunt.

 

For everyone's information, this issues is still happening (just happened today). I went through the process with the help chat and they could not fix it but directed me here.

I am on a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with plenty of memory and no other issues so it is not hardware that I can see.

Very frustrating
